I would not recommend a hair transplant. I had one, and is something I regret to this day.
The thing about hair transplant is that you will have to go through a few procedures in the course of your life, depending on how extensive is your bald pattern (your father is your best approximation). And you will not get that natural perfect look back.
Besides, you will most likely have to use drugs that could potentially mess up your organism. The medics are still not sure about the long term effects of most drugs.
What really bothers me is that I'm currently an actor and going bald or buzzing can limit me to what i can audition for.
You may be right about this. As far as mainstream entertainment/movies industry goes, the cute guy with perfect hair will always be the choice for main roles. But like invaray said, there are plenty of great bald actors, Oscar winners and stuff.
IMO, it all comes down to this: do you want to let something bother you for the rest of your life or do you prefer to be free of it and focus on the important things, like being a great actor?
Here's Patrick Stewart talking about going bald at 19 and being an actor.
You still have a lot of hair, though. Don't take any desperate measures, like a HT. Do your research, listen to other ppl who had hair transplants or take drugs every day. And also, listen to those who didn't, like most guys here.
