I did it!

I've been considering shaving my head for years. I finally pulled the trigger yesterday and I love it! My wife and daughter didn't seem to share my enthusiasm but it's my hair! Or it least it was!
I was tentative about whether or not I'd like the result. I went to my barber and had her shave it the first time so I got to see it in the mirror as it all came off. I loved it instantly! I'm definitely going to go 30 days and at this point I can't imagine ever going back to my "wrap around" hair.

Good job. The 30 day rule is as much for you as it is for the family. My family took a little while to adjust, but they did, and now they really like it.

Welcome lefthander ... indeed, the folks in your life may require some time to adjust. They have no idea of the inner satisfaction created by a shaved head. Enjoy every moment!

Glad you joined the board, Younglefthander.
As Frontier Guy said, it can take a little time for everyone to get used to the smooth look. Most guys find that by the second or third time anyone sees them, the newness of the shaved head will have worn off and few will notice or mention it again.
I agree with you that losing the horseshoe is a great feeling. I also cannot fathom ever letting mine grow back.

As an older lefthander, I must welcome a younger one - so welcome! The first time I went sly, I too went to a barber to have it done. Then I realized how easy it was to do myself. I hope you enjoy being sly as much as the rest of us do.

Welcome to the club! It's fantastic that you loved the sly look right off the bat. Lots of guys are uncertain at first, so you're past that. Now just give your family some time. They'll get used to the new you soon enough. And when they realize you're happy, they'll be happy too!
