Not sure if I would be able to rock being bald

Hey guys,
I've been thinking about it for a while now. I have thinning hair at the top of my head with a sharp widows peak due to the receding hairline. Its not super noticeable and I've been using rogaine for 4 years now. I'm just not sure I could rock the bald look, you know.
Here is a photo if that helps anyone's opinion.

Hi, you won't know until you try, most people try a buzz cut, you can always grow it long again if you don't like it

Most guys are probably unsure at first. Like geeman said, you'll need to try at least a close buzz cut to know. And then you'll have to give yourself time to get used to it before you make up your mind.

Going along with what Mike and geeman said, try a buzz cut first. I'd start out at maybe a #4 on the clippers, which is 1/2 in., and work my way down gradually over time if I were you. That's exactly what I did and it worked out well. Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

To echo my colleagues, there really is no way to tell exactly how you'll look without hair without, well, shaving the noggin. Having said that, while you may be thinning, you're pretty far from bald, so you can certainly grow back some hair if you are unhappy with how you look smooth. Or try a buzz cut first. That at least would let you gauge the shape of your head. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Of course you could just shave it off, but that would turn heads. Might be fun to do, if you're looking for attention.
Looks like perhaps you are an EMT? They often sport the BUZZ cuts. So you'd fit in. Like the others who have posted recently, I too, started at #4 buzz, then took it down one notch at a time over about 5 years. Enjoying the shorter hair each step of the way. Now I'm hooked on shaving.
The very short hair is so easy to take care of. And you don't have to pay the barber every few weeks. Get in the habit of buzzing your head every few days and you're in the habit for shaving it daily. The smooth head feels really nice. Looks sporty too.

Try a longer buzz cut first and see how it goes. A lot of guys who start buzzing gradually go shorter and shorter. You will get an idea if you like a cut that that shows off the shape of your head and features. On e I bare bladed my head I knew that I would like having a shaved head. Give it a try!

Not really attention wise, I am generally low key. I just worry about it / spend too much time and effort on my hair. It looks fine but the top is extremely thinner than the sides.

Yeah; you are getting there. The thinning and receding hairline is a bit noticeable.
I have to agree with the other guys. I was both military and law enforcement for many years. When I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan I couldn't find a good flattop barber so I just rocked a buzzcut. What Freedom! Jump out of bed; jump out of the shower; wear a hat; wear a helmet - WHATEVER - and the hair always looked good. Regardless of the state of your thinning or rececession - when you have a close buzz cut it looks "Natural" that way - there is no Tortured and Contrived comb-forward/comb-over look.
Go for the buzz cut and follow the 30 day rule. I predict you will love it and others will accept it. I'm not a betting man - which is why I will bet that in less than 30 days you will be thrilled that you ditched the scrappy mop head! (I am betting because I know that it is a sure thing - I cannot lose this one!)
And when the time comes to go totally Sly - you will find that your Cojones have enlarged to meet the challenge!
