I am 60% thinking about it ...

Right hello all,
My story here goes
I am a 25 male from the UK 80KG 5ft10 and I have thrived on my looks for many years with my hair but in the past 5-6 years I have been battling with hair loss and it is coming to a point of where it is going from the front right to back. For about 3-4 years I have been using hair fibres to secure my baldness from other people and recently have noticed I have to use a lot more to cover it up, once it is covered up more confidence is pretty much back at 70% with the side thought of knowing its getting worse (This doesn't stop me from talking with women while being out and they seem to love my confidence) it's the other effect of if I got into a relationship all the talk about hair fibres and etc, It has gotten to a point of pis*ing me off big time. I have done all of the treatments you can think off apart from HT obviously which is a no go.
Like all us balding men it stops you from doing so many things in life as you want to hide away in doors or under that hat.
One of the problems I have is i am scared I don't have the right shape head for it and secondly I have always had a high forehead even since as a baby. It really has been getting me stressed big time to the point of thinking stupid things as I have other depressing things (Money & and no immediate family near by) I just feel stuck in the water. I know some people have worse things going on there lifes.
The things that are stopping me from shaving my head is
1: people at work
2:people I know friends
3:first time going out showing people.
4:being made fun off
5: being to white
6: the noticeable hairloss down the middle where the sides are full look
Where I live it's pretty small county as everyone knows everyone (Sussex Uk)
No offence to people but I'm not overly sure on the shaved (razor look) but the more of the Jason statham look, will it suit me will it not? is my head shape right.
I know there is plenty I have left out as this is something I have been contemplating on posting for a very long time but then get scared and back away so sorry for the spelling mistakes and etc it's spare of moment and wanted to get it done. I have attached one photo at the moment reminder I have hair fibres in in this picture.
Thank you all so much for advice that i will receive hopefully

Hi Jadc,
Welcome to the forum. You have a good shaped head for a buzzed or shaved head. A beard like in your pic would look great with it!
Try the buzzed (Jason Statham) style first... You will feel a boost of confidence. I honestly feel like you will get an even bigger boost of confidence if you shave it, but that can come when you are ready. Don't put worry into what others will say. People may make a comment the first time, but will get over it... and it will grow on them. You will be surprised at how many will complement you on the look right away, too. All of your worries were felt by the guys on this forum, and we are still here raving about it, so that should tell you something too.
I hope you try it and stick around.

is my head shape right.
I had that same fear and is the fear of many before we take the razor and shave completely bald. Just from the look of your pic, it seems that you do have a good shaved head for it.
As you can see, I'm bald and bearded, I think it helps balance my look. I've only been shaving completely bald for a little over a month and a half and prior to that I did sport the buzz cut for a year. I also wore the beard and thought that it balanced the look. If you're not sure, as SlyMyke said, and as I did, perhaps buzz it close first to get used to the shorter hair. With the facial hair, it'll give you that Jason Statham look that you mentioned. Get comfortable with it and that will make the transition to completely sly that much easier.
Let us know how you come along.
Live life, don't let life live you.
Peace!

Add another welcome to the list.
In my opinion, your worries are overwhelming your life ... it's time to move on.
If you haven't already, read the "30 day rule" for suggestions. Essentially, it means to adhere to your new look (buzzed or shaved) for 30 days to give yourself and others time to really experience it. After 30 days I'm willing to wager you won't look back.
We've seen a lot of guys with a lot of different head shapes. You are going to look great, especially if you keep the beard. That's a dynamite combination.
You need to take charge of your life. Don't live according to what other people may think or say. Who made them boss?
Stick around and let us know how it goes. I won't be surprised if in 30 days you are writing, "I don't know why I waited so long ..." (You won't be the first to write that sentiment.)

Thank you guys for the advice and believe it or not it has slightly given me a bit more of a confidence boost to it already. Like I had mention before and not to sound to up myself but my hair was the best feature I thought in the past but then when I think about it , people gave me compliments on other areas such as eyes and nose.
Regarding the head shape, I know a barber probably could tell me if I do or don't but Im not sure if everybody has it but I have a rather flat back part to my head near the crown (Either I was dropped as a baby and my mother hasn't mentioned it lol) or it is normal as it feels worse when touching it with my hand while having the hair still ?
I feel like I want to move back to London with to my family as London is a big place and it would kinda be a new start for me and no one would know. (This is a separate story sorry)
Grr it drives me nuts haha
Lastly I just remembered one thing is that where I have been using hair fibres to conceal the baldness for a while but if i go buzz it off people will notice (As I am quite badly thinning from hairline back to crown)
I sound like a woman with so many questions! hehe

Hey brother, I understand all too well your pain.
I considered my hair one of my best features as well. In my late teens and early 20's I had it was long and thick and I loved it! As I got older I wore it in an Elvis style 50's pompadour and loved that too. So I get it.
I grew it out long again a few years back, maybe to try and recapture my youth, but it was considerable thinner and not quite the same. I finally cut it short into a spikey pompadour and that worked for a while, but could see the thinness around the crown, much like what you might be saying. Buzzing it helped to balance out the look and made the thinness not seem as bad. However, when I did my last pass in buzzing it a month and a half ago, I did notice that it was considerably thinner and that's when I made the decision to go completely bald.
I will say, another advantage of buzzing is that it will allow for your head to get some sun and tan so that the skin tone of the head matches the rest of you.
Ok, here's a pic to give you some perspective on my progression to being completely bald. Honestly, best decision I made and have no intention of going back.
We only have one life. Live life, don't let life live you!
Peace!

Welcome, Jadc! If you didn't tell me, I would have just thought you had a little recession at the temples....At least you could start with a shorter buzz for now and maybe grow a little more facial hair to offset it..If you ever decide to do the deed, it doesn't hurt to try, and if you don't like it, you can always grow it back. Good luck!
