SlyinKC, I haven't had that problem. I get my ice cubes wet first before rubbing all over. I had this vision of the movie 'A Christmas Story' where the kid gets his tongue stuck to the flag pole and thought about an ice cube stuck to my head and/or ripping skin off my scalp, so I decided it would make sense to have them wet first, as well as my head being wet. I also don't use any pressure when rubbing the dome. By the way, I think I'm getting immune from the shock of the ice; it just doesn't shock me anymore -- anyone else have this happen to you?
"I double dog dare you." Ha.
Yeah, I've gotten over the initial shock as well.

This post got my interest finally. Today I tried ice cubes on my head, rubbing it all over. My head hardly felt any cold, while my hand froze. It didn't do anything for me.

After reading every page of this thread, I am going to try this ice cube thing on both my chin and my neck (both where I get alot of bumps) the next time I shave. Hope this stops my bump problems.

SOK, the ice cubes have really helped with my neck bumps - my neck breaks out like crazy.

You're just tough. Well, that and you have probably had a shaved head for a while, so it's more weathered than some of the scalps.

Well, adding the cubes to the twice daily routine. I gotta say, it doesn't FEEL like anything special. I was kinda cold on my head, but my hands really didn't like it at all. It was easier than any other method for chilling my scalp. It SEEMS to have helped my scalp feel extra smooth.
I'll have to wait and see if it helps with any bumps and what-have-you.

Yeah I agree, Digory, it feels colder on my fingers than dome. But try using your aftershave first, then the ice cube. That will really give you a chilling feel. Currently, I cold water rinse, ice cube, then aftershave. So it doesn't feel too crazy.

I shaved last night (at work) before coming home. Using the ice cubes, of course. I woke up at noon...that is 9 or 10 hours later, and I have almost no growth on the back of my head, but a tiny bit up top. I think I will keep the ice cubes going. I did not mean to sleep in so late though...oh brother.

I just wanted to post in this thread to bring it back to life. There are many new comers here and I just think this is an awesome thing. It really does do something to the feel of a fresh shaved noggin..

I really like the ice treatment, although as noted above, the scalp doesn't seem to be very sensitive to temperatures, hot or cold. When I'm on the road, first thing I do in the morning is run down to the ice machine and get a bucket--after I put some clothes on of course. Once, I used my wife's hair dryer and noted that my head doesn't feel the heat--really weird.

I never tried shaving. What I was tried is rubbing ice cubes in my face. It really awakes me when I still feel sleepy. It feels cool using it.

I haven't tried ice cubes yet, the bathroom and kitchen are on opposite sides of the house. I usually wash my head with cold water after I shave, just because it feels good.

I have done it in the past and highly recommend it but the ice cube usually melts before I am finished my dome and face
