Man that is funny. I just started shaving last week, when the temps in MN were around 0*. I wore a beanie (quite a shock of cold) and when I would go to take it off, I thought my whole head was going to come with it.
I have been shaving against the grain since day one, I can't imagine not doin' it.
Thats too damn cold. In Florida I believe your 0*=50 F.
Now that I am against the grain, I'm going to get my beanies back out for when it gets wintery again. Lately it's been a chilly 70-80. Burrrr.

I use the Mach 3 Turbo on the sides and back if it's grown in more than a day. Else the Head Blade.

I don't have a problem with the sides...but the back was a problem for about a week. Then I learned that the hair on my back seems to grow differently on the back of my head. I have to shave sideways on the back of my head..wierd but it work. I start from the center and then shave (actually against the grain on the back of my head) with a sideways stroke. I also find that if I lean forward for some reason I get an ultra close shave.

It all depends on how your hair grows in that area of your head. I have a spot on the back of my nogin that I basicaly have to spin the razor around making circles to get a close shave.
