Hey guys thanks for then encouragement! I felt a bit silly in that cap but if was quite an insight! I'm getting lots of encouragement from friends too but it still seems huge! Just hoping I get some nerve come Saturday!

Make an appointment so that you won't wuss out. That's what I did.

Yeap, appointment is made, it's for the last thing Saturday, that way if I freak out I can shoot home then I'm off all over the far east for 4 weeks so I can calm down! Wussing out is a real possibility so I hope an appointment helps! Fortunately my hairdresser is a close friend and he's been trying to talk me into this for literally years!

If you friend is a hairdresser and thinks the sly look will suit you, trust him and go with it. Unless you are Samson, you won't lose strength or anything like that when your hair is shaved off!

A nice small alcoholic beverage to relax you perhaps? Something simple like a few swigs of beer.....

Today is the day!!!! And I'm sweating it!! Calm me down please!!!!
You'll be just fine. The hardest part ends with the first pass of the razor or clippers. You're 100% committed. Then put on a smile and show off your new head.
You're bringing back memories of my first head shave. The results were just fine. And now I wonder what I worried about so much. I did not get negative feedback.

Hello Hyperocker and welcome aboard.
I was just reading your first post and if you have already got sugnificant hairloss then going sly would be the way to go in my opinion.
I too was getting to the point of quite a bit of hairloss on top and figured going sly would look better than having "partial" hair. Lets face it, comb overs aren't cool.
At first I think all the doubts of going sly were just from me. Everyone else seemed to like it and now I couldn't be happier.
Don't beat yourself up over it.

Cheers everyone!! I don't know why this is so worrying!! All the advice is great but I'm still not sure if I'll get to that chair!! :-(
I suppose it's now or back to a life of concealing/hiding/caps/and combovers which as tmgrood said.....
Aren't cool

I'm infact terrified!
Sometimes, it's hard to tell the difference between terror and excitement. On this occasion, you may be excited.
Good luck. You will enjoy the new experience.

Like I said rocker, don't beat yourself up over it. Sometimes we can be our own worst critics.
Chances are those close to you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Yeah, you're so right! Everyone round me is very supportive, and encouraging! They can't seemed to understand why it's such a big thing!! It's just a haircut!!
I like the idea of being excited rather than feeling terror! I must say I can't wait for the hassle free lifestyle!!
Is it as good as you all say?!
