There's this guy who started working on my floor recently. Not sure who he is or what he does, he just sort of appeared out of the blue one day. He always makes it a point to give me a big hello and sort of act like we're best buds or something. I really don't know why he does this; I've never even had a conversation with the guy.
The best way I can describe this guy is Michael Douglas in "Falling Down", but thankfully without the anger issues. He has that same sort of grey crew-cut thing going on and dresses in the same way as the character in that film.
Today he was standing at the copier making 20 million copies of something while I walked past to get to the water cooler. Went through the big hello ritual. Then some woman came by to use the copier and started chatting with her. In a really loud voice he said something like, "This job is going to give me more grey hair. That's why I SHAVE IT ALL OFF. I just tell the barber, SHAVE IT ALL OFF. Hide the evidence, SHAVE IT ALL OFF." He just could not say "SHAVE IT ALL OFF" often enough. The guy has like a #2 - not even close to being shaved. But he seems to think that is.
Then it dawned on me -- is this why he's being trying so hard to be friendly with me? Is he a sly wannabe that can't take the plunge and is trying to convince himself that he has? I don't know. Maybe I should have said something, but I didn't. The dude is just too weird ....

Next time he does it, point to your dome and say "This is a shave". Point to his head and say "That is a haircut".

He just wants you to be his BFF! Only joking!

Funny on what people's perspective of this world is!

I like Pruitt's idea. Like Andre said, maybe he wants to be your BFF-Bald Friend Forever

I actually thought about that but wasn't sure I wanted to get into it with him.

Yeah, like heaven forbid it would take an extra day or two for the stubble to grow back from a complete shave.

I really don't understand how anyone who gets their hair buzzed that short on a regular basis could resist the temptation to shave it clean, even if they only did it once to see what it was like. Maybe they are actually afraid that they will like it and it will mean they'll never have hair again??

Do it in a humorous voice, but with a hard look on your face. He should get the hint

It seems like he's testing the waters. If he ever brings it up again or the next time that he says hello to you, why don't you mention this website? Why not start up a conversation? He might not be so weird once you get to know him. Just a thought!

Great. Then he can come here and read everything that's been said about him.

There hasn't been that much & he'd get over it. If he becomes a friendly co-worker, it will be an ongoing joke, if not, who cares?

We'll wait and see what happens. I still think the guy is a bit loopy.

I can always delete it...
I would talk to him. You won't really know how weird he is, or not, if you don't give the guy a chance. Often people will act weird when they are nervous or trying to impress someone.
