Hi everyone, my name is Alan, I'm a 55 year old widower ( first time I've said that ) living in Maine. I just found this place while researching Shave Secret on Bing. I must say I was immediately impressed! I've been a moderator of a forum that shall remain nameless, but I instantly felt good vibes in here. To me, one word says it all : respect.
I've had long hair most of my adult life, halfway down my back and a foot long beard to boot. I always wore it tied back and took great pains to look neat and clean at all times. It wasn't a fashion statement, it's just who I was and what I liked. My beautiful wife, Donna, passed in December, 2011 and my heart was of course ripped out of me. I had been wondering what a shaved head would be like. My personal philosophy is that every man, if at all possible, should try long hair, a beard or moustache, and bald head at least once in his life. Plus, it was time for a change. So this past Christmas, after having a particularly bad day, I took the plunge, off with the beard, and, more importantly, off with the high maintenance pony tail! I've gotten great comments from everyone I know, I'm proud I had the nads to do it and I like it.
I haven't had to shave regularly in quite some time, never mind the dome. I'm looking forward to all the advice you guys can give me, and getting to know all of you.
One more thing.......Bald guys rule!!
