You're going to really enjoy it when you shave your head bald. It will look good on you. You'll be all set for college or whatever follows.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for all of the responses again. Also I want to expound on my story since I sent a longer explanation to stiastu.
Last summer I was trimming my sideburns when I went up too high. Then I realized I had a bald spot almost all the way up to the top of my head. Panicking, I cut all of the rest of my hair off, no guard. It was pretty close to the skin, and I was like, "what the hell", so I grabbed the razor and shaving cream and shaved it all off. After doing that, I was so shocked and scared. After a day or so, I started to LOVE the shaved head, even doing it again before starting to grow it out for the school year. After growing it out, I went in search of the perfect haircut, trying out high'n'tights, mohawks, etc. But none of them were that appealing as the shaved head that I felt and loved during the summer. So then I made a pact with myself to keep my hair short for the school time and then shave it off.
And here I am now...

Many many years ago I kept my hair as short as yours presently when I first went to college. Got the nickname cue ball. meant that I was noticed which i liked. later on went to shaving at time when that was extremely rare - 1980.

Hi, Merase!
Welcome to Sly Bald Guys. It's the best site on the web for support with becoming bald whether that be by nature of by choice. Also, the guys on this site have a lot of insight into life issues in general & I think they are just a tremendous bunch. I recommend you have a good look around the site & different topics discussed here. You will glean a lot of practical knowledge & wisdom, to boot.
Enjoy the site, mate.
By the way, I think you should listen Slyjoe & others and at least try out a zero buzz or Oster #00000 blade (ask the barber for the shortest Oster blade) head shave if not the REAL thing. You will love it. Going by your photo, your hair is fairly short already....it's not too big a step for you to get your head shaved, now. Don't worry about getting comments about being a skinhead - those comments generally come from folks who are grossly mis-informed or the guys are just plain jealous because they didn't have the b***s to have their head shaved themselves! Go for it mate & enjoy the bald life. By the way, most girls love a guy with a shaved head. Be confident & get that head shaved, buddy. All the best.

You know, after thinking about it. I'm seriously considering pushing the date forward. I'm starting to care less about what others think and more about what I think is right for me.

Welcome to the boards! Glad to hear you are considering going ahead and doing the deed. I am willing to bet you will get more positive responses than negative.
One thing I will warn you on though. If you think you are going to save money on hair products...you got another thing coming!!!

Once you start buying blades, balms, shave brushes...it gets quite addicting. But there are worse things to be addicted to. Can't wait to see the finished product. Good luck!
