Hi to all,
My name is Robert and I registered to this site because I'm on the edge of shaving my hair off.
I'm 24 and not bald, actually got lots of hair

, so it's more of a practical decision.
Guess another reason for me signing up is that I'm unsure about my headshape (back of head is big and face is sometimes narrow) and if I should go completely naked or leave a stubble.
Maybe I can get some opinions in here...
Later,
Robert

Post some pics, but 99.99% of heads are a fine shape for the sly look.

Welcome Robert!
Until you shave it, nobody can draw a picture of how it will look, so the only way to see if it suits you or not is to actually do it.
You seem pretty decided, so go ahead: take the plunge, and post a photo when you have the time.
Enjoy the experience

Best I can do for now:

Looks like an ad for dry shampoo or conditioner!

I would say that if you want to try it out, you should go for it...even if it is just once?

Sorry to disappoint you, but there's nothing wrong about your head shape.

All you need is a clipper and a razor.

Guess I'll do it then next couple weeks...gonna make 4 times showering a day much easier.
Not the right forum but how often will I have to shave?
Once a week not enough?

Welcome, Rob! You have the head and the beard for the sly look if you want to go for it.....As far as how often you should shave....well, there is no right answer, I only shave my head every third day on average due to occasional razor bumps. There are products that can help you keep a long lasting shave, but you have to experiment. Good Luck!

Robert, welcome
Based on your pic, you should do great with a shaved head.
As to frequency of shaving, depends on how smooth you want to be. Most shave once a day, some of us up to twice a day so that it is always smooth....some every other day.
At once a week you will have a thicker stubble, and will be a bit more work.
You will find a routine that works for you, and a look that you like for yourself.
Congratulations on your decision!!
Mike

Definatly think you should go for it. Think it would be a great look for ya. I shave mine every other day at this point. Waiting a week makes it to hard to shave with just a blade since in 1 week it grown out to nearly a #1.

Welcome Rob and Crusher ...
Rob ... Just do it. You will really appreciate the experience. How often to shave? You'll figure that out. I'd recommended starting out with either daily (my preference) or every other day. Going a week will cause shaving to be difficult.
Crusher ... plenty of info in the many topics here. If you have specific questions, search of the item of interest or start a topic. Plenty of guys with real world experience (of all ages) to help you out.

Welcome Robert. I suggest you give it a shot. If you like it, then you're all set. If not, it will grow back to what you have now in a couple of weeks. Looks like you still have a great head of hair, so I wouldn't worry about it right now.
Good luck with your choice.

Welcome to the family mate, it seems I'm a little late to the party, but the only thing left to comment on is the 30 day rule.
If you decide to take the plunge (and you should, you'll look great sly, and lots of MMA fighters are sly, or at least a no-guard) Then every one of us would suggest that you go for the 30 day rule by shaving every day or every other day (you could probably drag it out to 3-4 days but it will get much harder to shave with every day you don't shave). This gives you and the people around you a chance to adjust to the new you, but it also gives you time to work out all the details of how often you want to shave, what technique, routine etc. I think it is a good kick start to the life of slydom!
