Hi. my name's Walt; and I am trying to work up the nerve for a full head shave. I've come close; with #1 buzzcuts; bald-fades; but can't seem to make the plunge. I've visited this site before , and the guys here are very cool; sincere, non-judgmental; unlike some individuals I've encountered in other forums. I am 50 years old, gry hair , thinning quite a bit at the crown/front; grey beard as well. Also; just to let you know, I'm gay; and the bald look is a particular turn on for me. I mention this because this looks like a basically straight forum; however, from what I've seen, you guys don't seem to be hung up on catagories. I look forward to dialoging with you all . hopefully, direct discussion will get me onto the 'sly' path.

Welcome Walt. The only category here that counts is being sly. I would say that you should succumb to your 'turn on' and shave it all. There are lots of good posts here to browse through that should inspire you to take the final step.

welcome Walt, sounds like you're pretty close to going sly....once you start thinking about it, you will do it sooner or later!! SBG's is a diverse group including a bunch of us gay guys here.
We all share the common interest in being bald, sly, thinking about, living it, seeking advice.
Glad you are here, look forward to hearing more from you....share a pic when you can.

Walt, welcome to Sly Bald Guys. If you're thinking about it, all there is left to do is just do it. You'll never know if you don't.

Welcome to the SBG forum Walt, just jump right in and make yourself at home. There are several gay SBG on this forum, and you're right it doesn't matter, this forum is all about helping each other. So of course we (I) would encourage you to go ahead and shave it off, but only when you are truely ready to do it. If that means you need to hang out for a while to build up the courage, or the right person just happens to post something that hits close to home and that is what finnaly pushes you over the top to shave your head, it doesn't matter, as long as it is the right decision for you to make in your own time.

Tom, yours is just the kind of comment / support I was talking about, and which is so different from what I've heard in other forums (stuff like "shave it now, you wimp ! ! "). Really, I think I'm just about ready, and the commeraderie I feel from you guys already is gonna be the final 'push' that will finally lead me into the brotherhood. Can't wait !

Welcome Walt!
Shave it and then give at least thirty days before you decide if you want to grow it back.

Hi and Welcome Walt!
As David said, summertime is a great time to shave for the sly look! However, it's always a good idea to start shaving early in the summer... once you have a tan (or burn) on your face, it can be pretty hard to get the color matched.
Good luck with your decision and remember, once you start shaving you'll probably never want to have hair on your head again!
