I read that the head blade razors have to be replaced about once a year.  That seems very frequent, given that DEs will last decades and even cartridge razors should last considerably longer than a year.  Can any users comment or explain the short life of these razors?

Well Gillette Fusion razors lasts for me around a month but on the end of that period they start to become dull... Have no experience with HeadBlade razors, but people in this forum say that they last ~1 week (7 shaves).

Really 1 year and a decade? If you count it until it no longer shaves then maybe, but I prefer them sharp... :)
Going sly might just be one of those things that will change my life :) Thanks! :)

Nah he is talking about the actual razor, not the cartridge.

Blue - I do find mine a little bit flimsy, I've only had it for what just about 2 months now, and I've already had the rear wheels fall off twice, luckily they haven't gone down the shower drain and they just push back on real easy, but it is the only problem I've had with mine. I'd be thinking the wheels and the adapters are the only thing you'd need to worry about, and if you got the ghost or classic then you'd only have to worry about the adapters breaking I guess... but I don't know what the difference between the glider and the wheels. I'm hoping the ATX wheels are a lot more sturdy though, they look pretty chunky, so they should be.

I'm a long time Headblader now I haven't had any trouble with wheels falling off. I still have the original sport (before they added the rubber finger ring) around here somewhere.
