Happy New Year 2013 ! Your current haircut is perfect. IF you want to shave sly, then do it. Remember 30 day rule. You are very handsome young man with positive attitude sans full head of hair. Yes ... premature bald ... show it off ... premature male pattern bald is part of you ... not an outside costume. Your personality deserves the best girl ... never worry about your future as long as you accept you as you ! If you were my son, then I would tell you to "rock the MPB look". You are an inspiration to young baldies here !

You realize that if you shave it now it'll grow back to this length in about 3-5 days? There really isn't any difference except for the fact that you basically have nothing but shadow at present.
+1 I was just about to say the same thing.
It looks good though mate, mono shame in a buzz if it makes you happy.

Again, I echo what the other guys said, from your first post, where you were in a bit of a panic, you appear more confident and at ease.
You dont look 18, but that isnt a bad thing! Your look suits you! Go with what you are comfortable with and what makes you happy.

3-5 days is correct. After a headshave, your current status returns in about 3-5 days.
For me, the smooth feel of my head after a daily shave pays for itself in personal rewards, rather than letting the stubble return.
If you were MY son, I'd encourage you to join my in shaving bald every day. Like father, like son.
Even with a daily head shave, you may see a slight shadow, but 'we' see it up close (very close). Most people at normal viewing distances see us as bald.
Go for it. A bald head feels excellent.

I was just going to say, comparing the two pictures: You look much older, in a good way, with a buzz. You look much better.
And given that New Years was yesterday, I'd say it's time to start this year with confidence and just shave it.

yea its just getting past the razor burn stage when your head has to get use to it and i don't have a break that long to get my head to adjust i go to high-school.

Took about 1-2 weeks for me to lose all irritation, but only about 0.5-1 week to lose most of it. Try lightly shaving it with the grain, driying your head, and then use olive oil as a lubricant on your scalp before going against the grain. It'll reduce irritation.

Really glad to see that you are doing so well.
Nothing to say that you have to keep your head completely slick 24/7, dont put yourself under any more pressure!

Yes, if you are bald by choice, you'll only be super smooth for a few hours after the shave, but it will look bald all day.
I normally shave my head in the morning, but this last week, I did it in the evening for company. The next night I had a massage. The therapist commented....you're growing your hair out? No, it was just 50% longer than he normally feels when he does the scalp massage.

You don't have to shave twice a day........Even when not slick, most bald heads give a clean-shaven appearance, so I wouldn't sweat it.

Looks great!
I started with a head blade ATX and Headslick and right from the beginning I have had no irritation but just a few problems with head bumps which SlySirHarry has helped with (cold water at the end and then witch hazel seems to be helping)
No need to shave daily unless you enjoy shaving daily. I'm shaving between 1-3 times a week, the ATX starts to struggle a bit if I leave it longer than 7 days
Wondering why you want a beard? Fair enough if you want it because you like it but if you think you have to have it because you have started shaving your head, then I'm a bit confused

I've grown into the 1/16th guard but getting old because i dont like how you can see the hair on the sides more than the top if you know what i mean so it probably wont be long till i start shaving this dome.
Would help if my facial hair would become fuller already

You're already mature looking for your age. I know beards are in right now, but take it from a guy who never has a lot of facial hair because it doesn't grow... it's overrated. No offense to the awesome beard wearers here, I just think that especially with your prominent jaw line, you look very sharp clean shaven. It's really a very natural and becoming look for your facial type
Also, you basically are bald in this picture. I barely see the shadow of hair around your head... trust me no one is going to notice this change if they already haven't unless they are coming in contact on a daily and intimate basis with your scalp.
Finally, as the other guys said, daily shaving isn't even mandatory- especially twice a day. Just do what feels best for your skin so that you can feel healthy and sly
