Man that lather looks rich. I can't wait to get my DE and other items. They should come tomorrow.
My plan for tomorrow evening is to take a nice hot shower when I get home from work and then prep and have my first DE shave.

Going to have a nice, slow evening shave post-workout and shower using the following:
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Derby Extra
Shave cream: Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood
Brush: Vulfix 1016 Pure Badger
Aftershave: Cold water and Osage Rub
Looking forward to trying out some different blades and shave creams/soaps. Probably going to buy a puck of Van Der Hagen from Wal-Mart and order some Proraso cream at some point. The DE shaves have been getting better and better, but I'm still on the quest for the perfect shave!

Hey Warhawk,
The Vulfix makes a great lather and seems durable (not losing many hairs), but I have no comparison to any other badger brushes as this is my first one. I'm sure at some point in the future I'll be getting a second brush to experiment with!

Hello from Germany,
I'm shaving my face only every other day...so my setup from yesterday (Monday) evening:
I Had a nice smooth shave with:
Razor: A white bakelite slant I recently purchased at e-bay...really a nice and gentle toy...
Blade: Astra Super Platinum
Brush: Frank Shaving in finest badger quality, 24 mm knot and really smooth
Soap: Dutch "Vergulde Hand" Stick, gives a rich and soft lather, lathered directly on the face
AS: A classical East german AS, "TÜFF sensitiv", little alcohol and a lot of herbal essences, kind of a secret tip in the german DE scene.
Was really relaxing after a busy working day.
Best wishes from Germany, and always a sharp blade in the razor...

This morning and most mornings: (face shave)
Tweezerman brush
Proraso shave cream (from the tube)
Edwin Jagger DE87bl razor
Derby Extra blades (or sometimes feather or shark)
Clubman aftershave or aqua velva.
I also have a merkur 34c that I sometimes use, but I've been on the EJ kick for about 3 years. after playing with different aftershaves for a number of years, I landed on those two as my favorites.

Hi, me again.
Normally it's only every other day shaving time. But yesterday (Tuesday) I got a little package with some nice gimmicks...and so in the evening I had to try them out. So, here is the "Extra-setup":
Razor: Gillette Super adjustable from 1973 (my new "Black Beauty")
Blade: As almost always: Astra SP (new)
Soap: Palmolive stick, my "everyday soap"
Brush: A new Mühle finest badger with a chromed brass handle, really heavy (190 grams)
AS: Tüff sensitive
The adjustable on level 6 did a good job. Needs a little practise I think, the Gillette angle is a little bit different to the Merkur angle. But it went ok, without any cuts or nicks.
The new brush made a whole lot of foam...and the extra weight feels nice in the hand. But I was a little afraid of ruining the sink if the brush would slip off my hand...

Mike, Looking forward to hearing how it goes. I have had some problems in the past with using a DE razor. I probably wnet to fast or didn't use the right angle.
Warhawk. Thanks fro the words of encouragement. I will have to give it another try soon.
