"Why are you bald?"

Some girls I meet ocasionally asks me
"Why are you bald?"
I usually reply with: Because I think it looks great!!
Some girls usually say.. "I wanna see how you look with hair", or "I bet you have some nice curly hair.."
Then I mostly say "Naaah, not gonna happen. I'm gonna be bald forever!"
Do you other sly guys get this question a lot?

I don't recall ever being asked that question.
It does, however, indicate a certain ignorance of decorum about the person asking the question. I wonder what their reaction would be if they asked someone why they were bald and the person responded that they had just had a prolonged bout with cancer and the baldness was a result of chemotherapy and radiation.
There sure are some proudly ignorant people in the world. I count myself lucky to have not encountered any of them in almost 15 years of headshaving.

Interesting thoughts..
I'm very young, 20 years old to be more exact! Lost my hair when I was 18.
I really don't think girls my age are aware that I shave it because of male pattern hairloss, since it's not that common to go bald at such a young age.

I agree. My initial reaction was to respond by asking, "Why are you rude?"

"Because I like it"
that should be enough...

"WHOOOSSHHH ! One day there was a gust of wind and next thing you know my hair was gone." That is the story my Dad used to tell my friends when they asked, "Why are you bald?" Dang ... a few years later that same gust of wind wrecked havoc with my hair as well ... LOL

Lucky fella. I'd love to meet girls but my wife would have a fit.
I get this question sometimes and I just tell people that I like it.. needed a change. I'm actually changing a lot of things, stopped smoking a year ago, no processed foods, working out so going back to being bald sort of fit my new lifestyle.

No random people have ever really questioned me on it?
I would probably make a joke about it tbh if it happened!

I think it's mainly because I'm young&bald, that I get the question occasionally!
Thanks for your replies everyone. That's appreciated.
But I guess a bald head is polarizing in a way.
Some women will be instantly INTO you just because of it, other girls not so much.... :- )
This is good in a way, since you'll have an easier time with the ones who are really turned on by you + your bald head! ;- )

Or, in the neighborhood where I grew up I simply say "The same reason you're wearing a weave (if it's a female)...I wasn't happy with my hair....and apparently you weren't happy with yours either!" If it's a guy asking this question, he needs to get/buy a life....

Also there are plenty of us on here who are in our early 20's, I think it's a lot to do with how you present yourself, if you wear the head with complete confidence people don't really question it. except....
I'm a guitar teacher and a young student came in the other day, looked puzzled, then asked:
'Matt, did all your hair fall out?'
'Most of it, yes'
'Did you want it to fall out?'
'Not really'
'Do you want it to grow back?'
'No, not really, I'm more aerodynamic this way'
'just thought I'd ask, cause your head is really shiny'
best unintentional compliment ever.
