Hello SBG. I have been receeding for many years, wore hats constantly to cover it up and based everything around my thinning hair/big forehead. I finally got tired of it and yesterday I took the plunge and no guard shaved my head. My folks hated it but my sister and friends liked it. Heck, even last night I got my first head rub my a female friend of mine who thought I looked sexy with my new look(use to have long hair and never took off my cap).....loved it!
Now though, I do notice even with no guard shaving my head, the sides of my head look a bit darker than the top of my head, as my top/temples are thinning bad. Would shaving/bic'ing it actually make it look fully proportionate and improve my look? Its not bad now I am kinda 50/50 with my current look, the sides do bother me a tad bit. Day 2 of no guard but I am wondering if fully sly will make a difference? Even a close friend of mine told me he thinks I would look better Bic'd once I brought up the question today (He didn't want to tell me up front yesterday since he thought I was too sensitive about my thinning hair) .
I brought it up to my mom/sister and they said my head its good as is and they dont want me to Bic it. But my sides are really darker than the top.
What do you say SBG? And for those of you on the fence, I beg of you to DO IT, take the plunge and at least get a 1 or no guard. My confidence has never been so better in my life. Now I am just thinking about the next step..
It's ALWAYS worth a 30 day challenge/try. Bic your head daily for 30 days. Most of the guys on there have done that. Then if you still don't like it, let it grow back.
You will have color variations at first, as the skin is not 'tanned' in the hair area, and may thus look lighter for awhile.
Go with a shave. It's an ever greater confidence booster.
Welcome aboard.

Shaving sly will make your head look more even as the sides will be down to the skin as the top is. With a little time the color will be equal all over. After you shave you could put some natural glow on which will blend your whole head in with a tanish look.
Welcome!!!
It will definetly look better fully shaved.... but.... if you have male pattern baldness and dark hair, you will have a shadow late in the day if you shave in the AM. That's , of course, normal and shouldn't even be something to worry about.
That first head rub should be an invite to you to give a full head shave a try for at least 30 days.
You will probably feel better with a shaved head instead of a buzzed head even though it will require more maintenance. Why not give it the old 30 day trial.
