So I've been lurking for a week or so, and yesterday it finally hit me. I decided to go bald. This is a rather radical change, as for the previous.. 3 years? I had a rather large amount of hair.
This is what I used to be, and my avatar (if it loaded properly) should be what I am now.

Now I ended up with a pretty nasty razor burn, but I treated my head like I'd treat my face. Harshly. See, I've been shaving my face on and off for 10 years and it's build up a tolerance to my forceful technique. Not so much my head yet. So a bit of pawpaw ointment seemed to relieve the irritation. Today is the start of day two for me and I'm looking forward to the journey.

AWESOME!!!!
I tend to NOT be a fan of mustache-less beards, but you really pull it off.
And that was a LOT of nice curly hair to shave off....
Enjoy your new look.
Would love to hear what kind of reactions you are getting.

I've mixed and matched with moustache-less beards, and I know the feeling, sometimes they just look verymuch out of place. I quite like mine however, and I was getting sick of it creeping into my mouth.
My reactions so far have been close family shaking their heads... and my best mate shrugging (He's mostly blind).
As to shaving off a lot of nice curly hair... are you mad? Curly hair is such a pain. If I had naturally straight hair I might never be bald.

Beardmaster, That's a dramatic change! Did anyone notice? When I went from 1/16 or so to shaved not many seemed to notice. (joke).
And DOUG ... your beard is coming in nicely! Thanks for the updated avitar.

That was a lot of hair that you go rid of. A big change for the better. Welcome to the bald brotherhood.

A few people have noticed. I had fun messing with my Uncle. He's been telling me for years to get a haircut. So I came over bald and told him "I got a haircut, you like?" Great fun.
Thank you all for the warm welcome. Day two shaving, I took some advice I read in these forums and did it a tad differently, in the shower with some gel going very careful with the grain, then very very gently against.. almost no irritation and close to perfect shave. Still learning the shape of my skull.
