Back to the horseshoe?....for now

Had the surgery that I mentioned in the thread "Dome Improvement" today. It went well, had three cortisone shots in the areas where I kept getting cysts/boils (one more set on the 27th should fix this once and for all) and I had four stitches put in the cranial area where I had a gash that inexplicably got infected. Because of the stitches, I may have to step aside from the sly parade (unless I shave around the stitches/injected areas) The stitches come out on the 27th and I last shaved my head on Sunday, so I have potential for two weeks plus growth. I wear a stocking cap to bed to prevent infection (I may do this even after the stitches are gone). But anyway, part of me wants to shave the areas I can shave but I think I need to let the sly look go until the stitches are gone. But it will be worth it in the long run when I can have that shiny scalp with no lesions and barely noticeable scars...I'll still be around though, thanks for listening!

I think if it were me I would just buzz it for a month. Let it heal and get back to normal. Good luck with it, Harry.

Thanks, guys appreciate it....Aside from wearing this stupid bandage that sticks out like a sore thumb, it doesn't hurt that much though I do feel a pulling sensation! Anyway, I still have this site to show me what the ultimate goal is..a sly, shiny dome, I envy some of you guys sometimes....

I, too, have had times when I have been forced to forego shaving the dome because of "injury". Rest assured, your place here is safe.

SirHarry,
Not shaving the dome for a couple of weeks is a small sacrifice for solving the issues you have been dealing with. That time will fly by, although it may not seem like it while you are living through it. The way I see it, you can probably celebrate the new year with a nice close shave and shiny dome!

Thanks for the encouragement...Just for kicks I'm going to take some pictures of me with a chrome dome....Many people have already said don't even bother touching the noggin till the stitches come out. I do have plenty of ointment and alcohol for the non stitched parts if the itching happens....Will KIT and thanks again to all for the well wishes!

Thanks again for the well wishes...I spoke with the doctor today and he said that I could buzz my hair after next week when the stitches come out...he did suggest that I wait two additional weeks before using the razor on my scalp...You guys were right, two weeks are going fast!
