Make sure you check out the other posts as they will help motivate you to the next level...being SLY!
The Before & After gallery is also motivational. I don't think there's a single person there whose after photo isn't a huge improvement over the "before".

Thanks for the encouragement guys. My plan is to go SLY this Friday after work. I'm going to start a goat on Wednesday, only because I have a meeting with clients on Tuesday night and I figure that I should stay somewhat clean looking. With your encouragement, I am realizing that it will probably be a nonevent with most everyone else. Just a big deal in my mind.
I have checked out the before and after photos and they are very motivating. Like I read somewhere else on this site, once you get the SLY idea in your head it is hard to get it out.

Well today is the first day of working on buiding in a little facial hair in preparation for the "big shave". I wore a mustache for years but have been without since the late 90's. I have also tried the goatee several times but have never stayed with it. Mainly just on vacations and such. Kind of like with the hair on top of my head the facial hair never comes in very thick. I usually end up with a heavy shawdow look, but I think that will be alright this time. Before the focus was always drawn away to my extremely thin hair top.
The only good thing about the thin hair is that I think my scap has gotten a little sun. I have been driving with the sunroof open to help out and also spending more time outside. I have also been trying to work in a little self-tanner on the scalp. Only problems are in the areas where there is more hair it gives kind of a yellowing effect.
I really getting anxious to do this. I think it will be such a relief just to get it all off and start enjoying not having to worry about how bad the hair looks.

You don't know the half of it dude! Wait until you finally have that gleaming bald head you've been dreaming about...you'll wonder why you been waiting so long to do it!
It's almost time to start your new life, my soon to be balded friend! Good luck!

Amen, Bro.
Your pic of you and your little guy is great. Mine are 8 and 11. The 8 year old wants to go SLY too. I'll have to work on his mother to get that one.

Hey Guys, I couldn'nt stand it any longer and decided I could not wait until Friday night. So, I told my wife that I was going to go trim my hair and ask her if she wanted to help. She told me that I didn't have enough hair to trim but I told her that I was really going "get a haircut" and a short discussion began and I think she thought that I was crazy. I had said several times that I was going to shave, but I didn't she took me as seriously as I was.
Well, after the initial shock, she is supportive, but still is not quite sure about it. It feels great. I thought that it wouldn't be as big of a change as it seems right not. The "Shave" took all of about 20 minutes. I'm hope it gets faster.
Now, I just have to go back to work tomorrow. I'm a CPA and am working at a client's office this week. It should be interesting. Let me know your thoughts on the new pic.

Hey thanks champ. I think the self tanner I have been using has help, along with the fact that my hair was so thin that my scalp did get some sun. The self-tanner i have been using is from Nuetrogena and also has an SPF15.
I have gotten a head rub from my wife and both sons. My eight year-old is the most excited and is begging me to give him a shave. Mom has not given in yet.

Kids are great. Better hide the trimmer from the eight year old, just in case!
