Does anyone listen to this Genre of music? i'm officially HOOKED after my ex introduced me to it a year ago. Apparently it's been around awhile but hasn't caught on much yet in the US besides the hardcore followers. I guess I've been hiding under a rock forever lol. I'm even reading up on how to become a Dubstep DJ. it may just be the greatest thing around lol.
welcome back. are u feeling better? u look healthier....
Welcome back Ghost! I've never even heard of that... maybe you could post up an example.
A little late to the party, but I'm a dubstep DJ. been DJing weddings and proms for 6 years, and am delving into the club scene now with some house, electro, and dub beats. Check out Logic Pro, DubTurbo, Traktor Pro 2 and Beatler/Beatnik for software. Buy a Macbook Pro. No excuses. a PC can't handle the resource usage of Traktor Scratch pro 2 running 4 decks with effects. Look into the Native instruments X1 or S4. They are the same company that made Traktor, and the hardware is perfect for it obviously. I use both along with a MIDI Fighter and a custom MIDI/HID controller I built myself. I go by DJ Zoom, but since I gained the chrome dome, I'm tempted to change it to DJ Clean.
Good stuff, Dj Zoom
You're right, Ghost, it hasn't caught on much in the US. At the same time, Britney Spears used a fair amount of dubstep production in one of her more recent singles and you will hear it appear in more and more mainstream songs. I just hope it doesn't mean that it loses its edge and creativity and becomes too gimicky, as is the case a lot of times things go mainstream.
Yea. The dubstep sound is in everything now. From Lady Gag's "The Edge of Glory" to Ke$ha's entire album. I bought the remix albums of all the mainstream artists who have one and 90% of it has huge drops with club samples. Remixes are so much better than radio edits.
