I've tried to compare the picture of you with what you wrote about yourself. Have you a warped mirror? You're a good looking guy with a well shaped head. You'll never know what you'd look like peeled until you are. And, as you'll read in many other places, don't have an advanced case of regret as the last bit of foam falls, give it a month or two. This is summer-unless you're in the Southern Hemisphere-get some color on your head so that it matches your face and then "wear it" for awhile. Wait for the first person to say, "Wow, you look great, I wish I had the stones to do that...." Your opinion of a shaved head and yourself will rise.

Thanks for the responses guys

I do actually suffer with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (officially diagnosed, it is very much facially dominated) so it may well be swaying my judgement of myself I guess.
I am probably going to go the gradual route, 3, 2, 1......... and see how it goes

Thanks all.

Best of luck Moggo, you will look bloody awesome!
It is only hair at the end of the day no matter what we all think, we can look great with or without it!

Hi guys,
The day is nearing to try a buzz cut (no 3), problem is that I am convinced that my face, head shape is wrong for it. What do you guys think from the photo?
Your advice is appreciated.
My head is too long I think!
Moggo.

Don't worry too much about it. I found that it was impossible to picture myself bald. In the weeks running up to going sly, I constantly touched my head, trying to decide if my head was the right shape, whether I had flat spots or bumps, etc. Only when you're shaved or buzzed can you get the real picture.
And as everyone says, if you don't like it, the hair will grow back. However if my experience is normal, once you're sly you'll quickly forget what it was like to have hair. Seven weeks into being sly, when I look in the mirror I have a hard time remembering what I looked like with hair because sly is the new norm.

Not, just do it, I have a melon at 7 7/8's--the largest standard size and hats still aren't comfortable. Just do it--it is easier on the Sly Side--trust us on this one.

All you need is a bit more confidence that you will enjoy buzzing down. When you get the no. 3 I bet 5 minutes wont go by when you are already curious about getting a no. 2. From your pics I find you to be a good looking guy who just needs a good, short buzzcut or headshave to really be very handsome

Thanks.
I am so cut up about all this, I know that is not the approach on this site and you do inspire me.
I just can't come to terms with even buzzing but hate it as it is. I find head too long, pale, ugly and feel that what hair I have takes the focus away from my face at least.
It is ruining my life and I am fed up of giving it so much power.
Problem now is as it is dark and thinning on the crown and down the middle if I buzz it will I look like Zinedine Zidane used to? So much termoil in my mind, sorry guys.
Rant over

When I shaved (last week) I didn't know if I'd stay with it, because I was laughing at myself every-time I caught a glimpse in a mirror! I'm finally over the shock. The 30 day rule is sound advice.

Whats up sly bros. Been awhile.
Listen Moggo. Im going to go against the grain a bit here.
You are barely losing your hair, at least in your pics unless your using some type of concealer.
If you want to shave your head--great. But you dont HAVE to.
Some guys are bald by choice but most shave because they dont like the look of a horseshoe around their head.
Why do you feel pressure to shave your head NOW ? You are an attractive guy, and you look like a big guy which ususally lends itself well to a shaved head. If your really gung ho, shave it down to like short, crew cut. See if you like that, but your hair looks just fine to me. And Im looking at it critically.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Photo attached, ugly and balding a bad combination
Haha, if you wanna see ugly check out my avatar. Point is I was twice as ugly before I went sly. Now I'm just marginally ugly. Big improvement!

I agree with Buddha..... he is only marginally ugly. I'm REALLY ugly. I've always been really ugly and shaving only marginally improved my looks. All sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
Get my point??
It will grow back if you dont like it Dude..... I said it before in this thread...... bigger fish to fry.

You are right, I think it maybe runs deeper than hair for me

You guys on here are really inspirational and have a great way of putting things in perspective

I guess the answer is that I have never been confident with hair so why am I so worried about being without it!
Thanks.
Moggo.
