Keep buzzed bald or grow out a little?

Hi,
This question is for all you guys that use clippers to cut your hair. I shaved my head totally slick about a week ago....but decided that I look better with hair, and most of the girls I asked said the same. But my hairline is receding and is very thin around the edges of my hairline. (And im only 22)
So...my question is what guard should I use to keep it super short to where I have a little fuzz (that doesnt feel like sandpaper) but is short enough to hide my hairline? The shortest I have ever gone before the shave was a #3, and it was much better, but still noticable.

A #1 will avoid the sandpaper feel

If you feel that you must buzz it do a no-guard buzz. I gotta tell you though, you look totally bad-a$$ completely sly.

Any good hair trimmer/clipper such as Wahl or Oster will keep you right where you want to be.
I think a #1 or #2 would be fine for you, if you want to avoid a sandpapery feel.

The no guard buzz gives you sandpaper head for a day or 2 - Just did that this weekend and I think I scratched the paint off the wall with my sandpaperhead as I walked by

I guess I was projecting my own preference. When I'm not completely smooth I like that sandpaper feel.

I have the Cleanhead razor and used the trimmer with the shortest guard.
My hair is really short but longer that sandpaper using that. The next shortest would be to screen which would give me the completly bald look.

Same here Red. I like having a day or so stubble as well, which I have right now. It doesn't bother me.

The original poster seems to want it a bit longer, so buzzing it with a 1 or 2 guard will give him that.

You really can't hide a receding hairline unless you shave it.

True, you won't hide it, but it's better to have it buzzed down than have any sort of combover.

Thanks for your help guys. Ill probably keep it at a #1 guard. I love the bald look but running my hands across the fuzzy stubble feels awesome as well....so figure id get the best of both worlds. Ive let it grow out for a week now and its very short stubble, but its to where its soft hair and still short enough to where I still have the bald look. I love the look and feel, and alot of girls have given me compliments, and weirdly I feel better and more confident about myself. Not letting my hairloss affect me is a great feeling...plus no more combing or stying or worring about the wind messing up my hair.

You look badass. I'd keep the stubble as long as you can, you'll have plenty of time to be completely bald.
