Once again - this one is for guys who are Sly.
Please be sure to complete the poll that is for guys who are sly and their concerns BEFORE joining the gang. The idea is to be able to quantify ( in a very broad manner) the truth behind the fears..
Thanks

The very first day, about halfway through a 1-on-1 meeting with my boss, he asked "Did you get new glasses?"

Mild surprise by a few. I've always been a "do what I want" kind of guy so most people were not that surprised.

The comments were overwhelmingly positive, but there weren't that many of them. Most people didn't seem to notice or care.

The vast majority of them were postive and the few negative were in jest. There were also a mixture of "I sure wish I had the guts to do that" comments.

A woman I knew for a couple of years asked me if I had lost weight. The day before I had hair down to my shoulder blades.

Most comments were positive, but a couple were a little negative.
A few folks were fairly surprised by my decision even-though I had fairly short hair to begin with. But in the end it is my decision & this is the REAL me.
People just need to get used to it because I'm not going back to having hair, full stop.

Overwhelmingly positive.....My wife loves it and my grown daughter does also. Strangely enough my going sly seems to have given my young, balding son-in-law the courage to go sly also.

Very positive among my family (I am actually hoping it rubs off on my father who has been wearing a toupee for over 30 years).
About 90% positive otherwise (still get 5-6 opinions about it a day in the workplace and been shaving for 2 months). The 10% that don't seem to approve or understand seem to be midddle aged men with MPB (strange).

Not too many shocked reactions (usually from good friends). Generally positive, otherwise politely ignored. Recently I've been getting a lot of "looking younger and naughtier" comments from those who've known me. Not an issue at all for those who didn't know the "before".

I've always found that to be the case. Middle aged and older men with MPB are always the ones to crack the bald jokes. Most of them seem to be delighted to see it happen to someone else.

This keeps popping up as a new thread even though I voted before...I guess because I didn't comment.
Now I did comment without saying anything. I just wasted 5 seconds of your time by you reading this.

Around 700,000 people saw me simultaneously. I was co-anchoring on television and after the first few minutes-and the switchboard lit up like a Christmas Tree, there wasn't much to say. That was 15 years ago and all I get now is either questions as to why I did it then-and kept it-or requests for encouragement while they considered the big shave.

At first I got mostly negative comments, being young I can see where there coming from. Also because I don't think many people even knew the reasoning for why I shaved my head I just simply told them because I wanted to. So at first I did get alot of comments of, you should grow your hair back or you look better with hair. However after I got more confidence in myself bald I was able to tell people why I shave my head. Believe it or not I was just as scared to come out on shaving my head as I was my sexuality. And neither was as bad received as I thought they would be. (Go figure.) So now I mainly get comments about how I look good bald or how they couldn't imagine me with hair. Oh and add in alottt of bald jokes, but you know what I honestly don't care anymore. If it wasn't this they'd be callin me casper for my white skin.
