Hey guys,
I am looking for something that will allow me to browse the net from the convenience of my couch. I am thinking of getting an Ipod Touch primarily for the purpose of a web browser (Yes, I do have wi-fi). My question: how do you like using the Touch for a browser? I know it is small, but is it still functional? What are your thoughts and possible alternatives? Please keep in mind that a couple hundred is all I am willing to spend for the convenience of web browsing from my comfortable couch.
I have an iPod Touch and it is pretty decent for browsing given it's small size. If you do decide to go with it, I would recommend buying another browser though. The built in browser is ok, but there are other out there that are better IMO. Atomic Web browser is what I use.
Also, another thing to consider is the 1st generation iPad. Since the iPad 2's came out, all of the 1st gen's are $100 off. So the 16GB wifi model is $399. Which, depending on which iPod you were looking at, isn't too much more than an iPod.
I have both an iPod Touch and a first-gen iPad. The latter is a much better browsing experience.

I meant to mention that as well. Given the choice between the two I will always go to the iPad. That is if I can pry it away from my wife
Good advice guys. Thanks for your input!
If you haven't purchased anything yet, take a look at the various 7inch Android tablets. Cheaper than Apple and does just as much, if not more.
I need a word processor; Does the touch have one?

**Disclaimer - I am not trying to solely promote Apple products.

They are just the only devices that I have hands-on experience with.**
It does have an app called
Pages that does word processing, but I don't think it would be practical for writing more than a few paragraphs just because you're inputing it on such a small keyboard. The app is also available on the iPad which you can connect a physical keyboard to via bluetooth.
