I know that I've seen a number of posts on here concerning products that can help reduce irration of the scalp but can't remember where so am posting this now. I am getting a lot of scalp irritation - small red bumps to be more specific. I am using Nivea Sensitive Skin (alcohol free) shaving cream and am putting aloe vera on afterwards. Can you guys suggest other creams/lotions/balms that might help with the bumps?
Wipe down w/ non-oily astringent after shaving, like hydrogen peroxide. Wash w/ mild anti-acne soap at least twice a day. And get benzoyl peroxide lotion and hydrocortizone lotion--not the cremes and rub in after the astringent. Change your pillowcase. Essentially keeping it clean, keeps it clear.
In addition to the products Saint recommened, If your shaving everyday you might want to try every other. Also just shave WTG only for a while, less chance of ingrown hairs.Witchhazel also good for an after shave.
Thanks for the feedback. I had been avoiding the anti-acne products as I they thought they might exacerbate rather than help. Have changed the pillow case.
benzoyl peroxide lotion and hydrocortizone lotion--not the cremes
can you explain the difference Saint. Maybe with a product name?

The lotions are easily absorbed by the skin, the cremes tend to stay on the scalp and feel greasy. These are the active ingredients in skin lotions, bp is in acne medications at 5 & 10 %, and hydro is generally in a skin treatment to reduce redness and skin irritations and is put out under several brands. Look in acne section for bp and in skin lotions section for hydro.
