Goatee Grooming Tips

Hey my Sly Bretheren...
Now that I can keep the goatee all the time now that I am a civilian...
I feel it is getting a little messy and out of hand...what tips do you have to keep it neat? I really don't want to go to a barber to get it groomed, but have heard that is the way to do it...
I'm debating scraping off the hair off the upper lip and letting it go just on the chin...
Your advice is much appreciated...

I use a Norelco Beard trimmer to keep mine from looking like a bush!
I have a hard time growing good facial hair.

Going sly--20 minutes. Beard--2 months minimum, probably 3. Even when the itching passes, between a shadow "beard" and a mature one is a matter of time, time is patience. Keep going, it will get better as hairs, now dormant, come into their growth phase. Above all, patience.

That's what I do -- except in those rare situations that I can't get to a barbershop to get it done. It's $5 well spent as far as I'm concerned because I'm never happy with the way it looks when I do it myself.

If the beard isn't to long, a beard trimmer should work for you. Even I am able to use one.

The problem is a beard trimmer won't help you keep the edges straight.

It depends on the shape you want to maintain, I guess.
For my simple style it works good enough IMO.

I just trim around the edges. Im never cutting it again except for the mustash so I don't eat it. Im going to grow my goat to a foot and then braid it and put beads or something on it. My wife thinks Im kidding ...

Careful work with clippers and a guard, and finishing with some appropriate scissor work around the 'stache. I'm not looking for anything but "neat enough." I've got no one that needs to be wowed by complete perfection; you may be subject to more judgmental eyes.

I let it grow for a couple months...
First I trimmed the moustache area, but a few weeks ago shaved that off...
During those few months I've been tweezing out the gray hair..
But, today the soul patch area was really annoying me, so I just shaved it all off and will start over.
It was a little surprising how easy it was to just shave it off my Fusion.

So is there anything left or are you totally Mr. Clean right now?

I must admit that was a lottle funny when I read it. I too have told the wife that was what I was going to do. She just said "LIKE HELL". Of course in my case I was joking with her.

Haven't you heard the adage, For every gray hair you pull, 10 will come to the funeral? You can't pull them fast enough, you have to accept them, dye them or shave them.

Just my eye brows remain...but can already feel the growth/rebirth of the goat...
