I didn't chose my nickname....It was given to me by Chris Barker (Cbark), the current reigning US National Hybrid Slalom Skateboard champion and world rank professional. I used to race mtn. bikes and road bikes and back a long time ago (1981) a lady driving a big Ford LTD decided to make me a hood ornament and drove me into a telephone pole and a tree while I was on my bicycle. I crushed a vertabra in my neck, fractured my skull, cracked my hip, broke most of the ribs on the right side, and damaged the nerves in my right ear. I have been deaf in that ear ever since. I have a habit now of cupping my left had behind my left ear and turning my head toward people when they are talking to me in a crowded or loud setting (imagine your grandpa saying "what did you say?")...
Cbark said I looked like a cross between MC Hammer and a hammerhead shark and the name was born.Â
I also have a reputation, one that is going to catch up to me one of these days because I am getting old and my body is going to eventually give out, of being very intense on race days and walking away from spectacular slams in downhill and slalom races....thus being labled a hardhead like a Hammerhead shark.

Just realized I never replied to this post.
ar3 are my initials. Just threw the inc in there cause ar3 is not long enough. Sorry not a better story. :-(

Well, my name is Rob. It was either my father-in-law or brother-in-law who first called me "robmeister" not long after my wife and I got married (going on 14 years).
It goes back to Saturday Night Live skit that John Lovett (sp?) did where he would take peoples' names and say, "hey...Bill....Billy Baby....Billster....Billerino....the Billmeister...." -

0~~Hey I suggested that HeadBlade make little round bandaids with their logo on it, for those of us who occasionally nick ourselves, but they said that people would assume that their product will cause cuts.
i got a nick this morning that i can still feel. must have cut a mole i didn't know about. -
