Thanks for the advice and encouragement. Now that I think about it, the wife did leave the door open for me to shave it off. At work, another head shaver (many shaved heads there) said the same thing to me, "Your hair is so short, why don't you go all the way?"
One thing holds me back. I am not sure what type of razor to use. I'm afraid it would be a bloody mess because I bleed easily when I shave my face. For that reason, I have a full beard.
Read the information on How to Shave Your Head. Cut it as short as possible, no guard, shower, a little baby oil or shave secret, your shave creme or gel and a NEW blade--I started w/ Fusion, very hard to nick I found, and SLOWLY--it's a new skill--it won't take long to learn and the process will get much faster--But Slow at FIrst. Rinse, some after shave Balm, Nivea Extreme is my choice--Result, smooth, clean and Freedom.
"Use a good quality razor like a Fusion (the razor of choice for most around here) and some good quality shaving gel. If you prep properly -- get your scalp good and wet beforehand and take your time, you shouldn't nick or cut yourself. The skin on the scalp is more taut than your face, so it's actually easier to shave than you thin"

Thanks for the input. I was wondering how my beard would look with a shaved head. After looking at saintc's photo, there is nothing for me to worry about. Looks good, saintc.

Where do you get HeadLube?
Where do you get HeadLube?
You should be able to find it at Walgreens (sometimes at CVS). Barring that it's always available at the HeadBlade site (
www.headblade.com). It comes in Matte and Glossy.
I miss CVS so much! We only have Walgreens and RiteAid here.

CVS has invaded us here. You can be standing online at one CVS...and see the door to another one.

Bubba,
Take the 170 mile drive to Missoula and you will find a CVS!
Woof!
"The more hair I lose...the more head I get!"
Love that quote!! ROTFL at that one!

I havent seen a CVS here. For my headlube I drive all the way to Walgreens in CdA, basically close to an hours drive just for a bottle of it.
I figured out a comparison. A head without shine is like a twinkie with no filling, just not the same
I wish we could share a CVS with you - -Where I live they are building a new larger CVS one mile from the new larger CVS they built 2 years ago - - - -

With the Sly Bald Guys 20% discount, ordering on line is the cheapest way to go! That's how I get all my HeadBlade products.
I havent seen a CVS here...
We've got one on just about every other corner ! CVS and Walgreen's seem to monopolize this area.

We have to use CVS since they bought out Eckert's, and it has not been an improvement, nor was RiteAid's purchase of our local legend, K & B. Basically, I really don't like "national" brands/franchises, they don't respond to local needs, and certainly haven't recognized the power of Sly. I do a lot of my shopping for such stuff at a local non-franchised store that at least matches for beats even the big box WalMart for price and every one of the chains for selection. One problem is that my cherished HS is getting harder and harder to find. It's a really mean and tough market out there for niche products, although considering the number of clean smooth domes we all see we're beyond niche by my definition--but the vendors and manufacturers have failed to open their eyes to the fact of our shining domes.

These stores are also being hurt by on-line shopping; with overnight / priority shipping, why drive to a drugstore. I read an article on cnn.com (was it today?) about a town in Texas (Laredo ?) losing their last bookstore. One of the reasons cited: on-line shopping (along with competition from mass merchandisers). I have a feeling pharmacies are feeling the same pinch. Since they buy in bulk, items may sell in one area and not others. Why stock for certain markets ... stock for the whole chain. Not saying I agree, but it's a fact.
