“A Nigerian man has been charged with attempting to destroy a plane after he allegedly tried to detonate a bomb on a passenger jet arriving in the US”
Did I miss something here?
Was he going to use an exploding dick bomb?
I ponder

The passengers should have dragged him to the door, opened it, and thrown his ass out.

Early unconfirmed reports show some justice, it's reported on ABC news that the chemical was concealed in a plastic pouch, possibly a condom, in his underwear. The resulting fire "severly burned his groin area!" Well, if your perverted take on an honorable religion leads you to fire in your pants, maybe God is trying to tell you to shape up.

Let's hope these a$$holes don't try something on Amtrak. I'm on the train next Tuesday. If I see anything like this crap on the train, you can bet your bottom dollar I won't wait for the next stop to disembark the SOB.

Well if the fire was sufficient, at least he won't have anything to offer in return.

Several reports I heard said the passengers helped in subduing the jerk. It just goes to show that Americans are not just going to sit back and let crap happen

what gets me is that (after the stable door was opened) security at airports is now being tightened up (again!

) when the security should have been that tight to start with and then it might not have happened...
Good to see no one (except the terrorist!

) was hurt though.

Wasn't his name on some terrorist list before this happened? How did he even get ON the plane?

Bear, this guy was not on the "no fly" list, but we won't have to worry about him, he'll be in prison for a long, long time.
Paul, it's great isn't it? No one is going to sit back and watch, and most people I speak to now would surely take some form of action. We're not gonna take it!

He had the liquid taped to the inside of his upper thigh. I guess we are all going to have to drop our pants when going thru security.

That would take too much time really, but they've been testing scanners (millimeter wave and backscatter imaging) that let the screeners look through your clothes at several airports for some time now. Hope you're OK with letting them ogle your (and/or your wife's/children's) genitals. Wonder when bored screeners will start posting their favourites on the internet?
Of course, last August some suicidal militant tried to blow up a Saudi prince by exploding a bomb stuffed in his rear end. If/when somebody tries that on a plane, the "oh my god do something" folks will have to start advocating either real x-rays or plain old cavity searches for everyone... fun times
