Well it took me a couple of days but I'm finally there! Thanks again to everyone for your encouragement. I'm still trying to get used to how different I look -- but am happy that I'm not paying $300/month+ for a hairpiece. I'm definitely on board for the 30 day trial. So far I've had virtually no reaction other than my kids saying "dad where's your hair!?" Funny -- I did feel that immediate confidence boost and "baddatitude". I think hair is a conduit for draining your testosterone

So question for me now is goat or no goat.

You look great, really, lots younger, strong face--really works.
What a great way to celebrate the holidays. The "who's the dude in the mirror" sort of goes away after a while, it morphs into, "Damn I look good!"

REALLY. I'm not kidding. Plus the head rubs--you're good to go. Don't forget the sunscreen, w/o the "hat" you'll need to care for that great looking dome!

RIGHT ON TODD!
Vast improvement. The big question is.....
what are you going to with all the extra cash?

My oldest daughter just turned 16 and really wants a car. So for less than what I was paying for "hair" I can pick up a car for her -- and still have enough left over to take my family on a vacation. How crazy is that? A stupid piece of lace with dead hair that looks terrible costs more per month than a car and an annual family vacation! I still have to slap myself for thinking that it was ok to pay $700/month (at one time that's what I was paying to the Hair Club) to look like someone who is wearing a dead animal on my head.

WOW Todd! When I saw your avatar I didn't even realize you were that "other" guy with "hair" unitl I saw the two photos side by side. What an improvement!!!
Keep the goat!!!!!!!!
Yes the financial benefits will be nice for you but the "other" life benefits you get for now believing in yourself 100% are invaluable.

First public outing sly this morning. Went to my 8 year old son's basketball game. Sat down and 3 moms came over and sat next to me and were very chatty. That never happened "with hair". It was a HUGE confidence boost! Nobody mentioned anything about the hair cut but the actions spoke more than words. Waiting for the anonymous random head rub next.

Looks great! I think that's a great decision regardless of the financial repercussions.

Dang bro... you look good!

Better go get yourself a big stick cuz you're gonna need it to fight off all those women wanting to rub your head!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I went to the mall tonight without a stocking cap and walked around proud to be a sly brother. I walked into the Apple store and the store manager who is sly looked up and smiled. Sly brotherhood is awesome!
I also stopped at Walgreens and picked up a headblade. I came home and gave it a try. It was a lot easier for me than my Mach -- but I'm only 24 hours into slydom so not sure which will win. I definitely got a closer shave with the headblade -- but I was also more confident as it was my third shave. I also knocked down a couple of bumps that I had prior to going sly - with the headblade -- ouch -- which bled for a while. I love the smooth feel -- its awesome.
I've also applied self tanner a couple of times to try to get my scalp to blend with my face. I live in the Portland Oregon area so getting a tan outside ain't going to happen until at least July 15th, 2010. That's the first day that we can reliably count on sunny weather in Portland. I looked for the Jergens that everyone recommends but didn't see it at Walgreens.
