The music thread...

Hey folks,
I was wondering what kind of music you bald guys listen to.
I for one enjoy Jazz music - Joshua Redman and Yellowjackets being my current favourites -, classical (baroque), 80s music, such as The Smiths, Depeche Mode etc., and Cuban.
I also like The Doors and The Beatles.
Sometimes, if I'm in the right mood (and providing all windows are closed) I also put on an old Jackson 5 record.

All right, over to you...

Great thread Harry!
I listen to a lot of different country artists, but some of my recent favorites are Montgomery Gentry, Big and Rich, Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt, Moonshine Bandits (sort of country rap), Railbenders, Dierks Bently, Garth Brooks.
I also listen to rock artists such as Kid Rock, Rage Against the Machine, Papa Roach, Sublime and a bunch of southern rock artists.
If I'm looking to listen to a lighter set of music, I'll throw in a mix of Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Jimmy Buffet, IZ, Andrea Bocelli, and Sinatra.

Hey Tyler,
nice musical repertoire you've got there. Regarding the "lighter music" you mentioned: Sinatra's great, but Tony Bennett...now THIS guy is SLY! We should consider inviting him to join our club, even though he's not bald - as an honorary member so to speak...

I listen to quite a variety. Anything from Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, the founding outlaw fathers. To Metallica, Aerosmith, Primus, Reverend Horton Heat. Willie Nelson the Americana genre. I enjoy several of the bands and singers in the Texas/Red Dirt music movement too. There are really too many artists too list that I listen to.

I am a part of the music industry (Head of Security/Stage Manager) for various bands. I have met many acts at some local concerts, having worked as V.I.P. Security for Iowa's largests Rock station, Webmaster and Security for Hairy Marys (a live music venue known all over the world). I own 1000's of CD's and MANY are personally autographed by the bands. I am known as Yeti, of course hehe. I am working for the band "Index Case", who I will be going on tour with a little later this year, and you may hear something about them soon, as a new Universal signed artist. I am also a personal friend to Slipknot's members, since we all are Iowa boyz. 8-) They will be going back out probably next summer, as I hope to assist them this tour (so Paul tells me too hehe woot!). As far as the musical genre's I listen to, its vast. I am a huge movie and music lover. I love HARD STUFF, Blues, Reggae, Heavy Metal, Stoner Rock, Classic Rock, Rap, Punk, RnB, Jazz, Folk, good ole country (Willie, Waylon, Hank, Johhny, etc.), most everything except this new age Country and Opera.

I'm a huge parrothead, but I like all types of music... some of the new rock (The Killers, Lit, etc) is great, and can't go wrong with classic rock either!

I listen to all kinds of music, but mostly hard and heavy rock. Van Halen is my all time favorite band and I actually got to be onstage at a Sammy Hagar show over the summer! Incredibly cool. I have pictures too! My favorite new band of the moment is Black Stone Cherry. I'm really digging the new record.

I listen to HipHop both old and some new stuff....mostly stuff from the South..., I listen to a lot of Screw, I love Jazz but am a traditionalist (Miles, Trane,Parker,Armstrong,..and the like....) and I have a special place in my soul for Billie Holiday .., R&B (both new and old but more oldies),
Blues (cats like Charley Patton, Lemon Jefferson, Willie Mctell,Son House,John Hurt) and I like some of the electric Blues stuff but still on a traditionalist level ( Howling Wolf, Fred Mcdowell, a young B.B. King, Bobby Bland ) and cats like that ,
Reggae both Roots and Dancehall, I like Soca and some African stuff as well as some Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian sounds.......

I listen to a lot of music having a very ecollective taste. Johnny Cash to Slipknot. However I tend to lean torwards the music that I fell I identified with the most in my life. Which was when I was a teenager with
Nirvana, Pearl Jam, soundgarden, STP.

Depends on my mood and/or the environment....so I like everything from Mozart to Metallica...and lots of stuff in between.
I'll have the huevos to admit that, yes, I even like ABBA and Barry Manilow.
Nirvana, Pearl Jam, soundgarden, STP.
Yep....and those guys too.
Sorry...haven't warmed up to most Country music....or Rap/Hip Hop.
