Well, when I'm home, my "commute" is only about 10 minutes, but when someone, usually a woman--and I'm not being a sexist pig--is texting at the stoplight, and doesn't move on green. Also, I dread getting stuck behind a streetcar in the block before I turn for my building's parking garage. There's not much that can get to you in 10 minutes.

People who think they are sweet and can drive like a jackass because they have a nice car/jacked up truck.
People driving the speed limit or slower in the left lanes
People in general on the road. I tend to get a bit of controllable road rage (oxymoron, right?)
I need this vehicle.

I can't say much on the tailgating thing, since that's the norm around here and I do it...
However, my biggest one is the morons that think they have to self-impose the speed limit in the fast lane... When cars are screaming past you on the right, it means it's time to move over!

Tailgating, oh how I despise being tailgated. Typically I'll do a break check to get them off of me, and if that fails I'll admit, I start being a little immature and toy with them. Not signaling is another pet peeve of mine, especially when they're making a left in the middle of an intersection. Great topic Warhawk.

The one thing I despise about Austin is the drivers. In Boston, renowned for bad drivers, at least everyone was "predictably bad" -- you knew what bad habits everyone had. Down here, it's complete random acts of stupidity.
Tail-gating is the norm. Texting, make-up, shaving, phoning, eating, and other activities all seem to be much more important than paying attention.
Death-turn exits from the upper lanes, because, you know, we just, like, forgot to get in the right lane, is common.
But the most infuriating habit here seems to be what I call the "Must Be First" Syndrome. People just HAVE to be first. So they'll speed up to cut in front of you, only to slow down to 20 mph below the speed limit.
Luckily my commute is only a tad over 4 miles, or I'd likely spend most of my days in a killing rage.

Texting, of course, but that goes w/o saying ....
One habit that annoys me regularly is when in a highway traffic jam (which is every morning and afternoon for me), some people insist on changing lanes, back and forth, even though both lanes are not really moving. So, they change lanes real fast and then slam on the brakes upon arriving in the new lane.
Another is when people drive in the emergency lane, during a traffic jam. Somehow the cops are never around to catch anyone doing this.

Like BaldRob I hate when people don't get out of the fast lane when someone wants to pass. If you're in the fast lane and someone is coming up on you, then get over! If you get tailgated, it's because you need to get over! I also hate when you have three lane highway and people in all three lanes are going the same slow speed right next to each other.

It's funny how some people switch over to the fast lane to pass, and don't pass, but drive parallel to the car in the right lane. I just don't understand, I could rant forever about driving. Even when the speed limit is 55 and I'm doing 75, people somehow manage to be right up my crack. I even get tailgated when I'm on foot sometimes while on my way to class, its incredible.

The person who passes on the left and right, cuts around and cuts off people, gives dirty looks, talks on the cell .... and still gets stuck at the same light you are at.

Tail-gating is right on the top of the list but in general, that attitude expressed though driving that says...
"I'm the most important person on the planet and I don't care if it even cost you your life, what I want comes first"! F-you!Yeah, I guess they're that way when they aren't driving too!

1. Text messaging
2. People who don't use their turn signals
3. The absolute STUPIDITY of smokers who don't know they have an ashtray and throw their butts out the window.

Saw one the other day that scared the crap outta me. Guy at the crossing below the house went around the crossing guards, narrowly missing being hit by a train, to save four minutes.
