I was absent over the weekend because.....
Sometime between about 10 AM and 12 PM Saturday morning my internet at home went down. As of 4:30 AM this morning it's still down. I was assured by Embarq yesterday morning that I would be up and running by last evening....HAH!!
I couldn't get my SBG fix at all over the weekend and that sucked.
They'll be getting another call from me today............

The Internet is what makes computers so popular. Without the WWW not so popular.

You're right Tom. Without the Internet, computers would not be near as useful, pretty boring in fact. I was at the library the other day and they had a used book sale section. They had a good set of encyclopedias for sale for $5. I thought that was hilarious because 20 years ago, they were probably several hundred or more.

Looks like my router went up........ If I disconnect from the router and connect my internet cable directly to the computer I'm back on line...... but of course no wireless connection to the laptop.
I have a Linksys router that is only 14 months old...... I can't believe that it went to Hell already.
Anyone have a suggestion for an inexpensive, reliable router?

That's pretty standard for Linksys from my experience. I use Buffalo routers in my house. I've had one for 4 years now and I've never had an issue.

If it's inside of 5 years there should be a manufacturer's warranty on the sucker. What was the serial on it?

I checked it. It was a seagate drive that came with a dell machine.
