I finally had to break down and do it. I didnt want to, the kids for the last two days have been complaining about it. Kris would walk thru the house like she was on her way to visit someone up in the artic circle or something. The dogs didnt want to get out of their kennel. So yeah..I finally fired up the ol gas furnace. I hate it with a passion. So what about you all, how long do you wait until you turn on your heat? Yes I know there are some of us who are still under the airconditioning, so.....to you....you suck! lol

I've been running my heat, periodically, for the past 2 weeks or so. It snowed in Connecticut today and we seem to have accummulated an inch or so in our yard.

Yup. I live in Central Florida and this time of year still has a bit of that depressing feeling of collapse and decay and it's still in the 80s and 90s here! I think a lot has to do with reacting to the sun setting earlier and earlier.
I've always hated this time of year, but it was certainly worse when I was a kid because it was time to go back to school. Man that was always a depressing experience.
Wait until we go back to Sucky Time. I can't stand that either. When I lived in PA the #*$(# sun set at 4:45pm. I had a whole 45 minutes to enjoy the outdoors in the deep winter after getting off the bus, of course there was no point to being outside anyway since it was the deep winter!

OK, I jinxed myself mentioning the heat in my last posting. I noticed it was a little cold in here after my last posting, checked the thermostat, and realized my gas furnace is not coming on. Checked the circuit breaker and emergency shutoff switch and all is ok there. That's where I stop ...
It's 34 outside and about 59 inside now. I turned on the fireplace (gas) to help out, but that hasn't done much. Oh well, have to get that fixed tomorrow ...

I have had to put the furnace on first thing in the morning to take the chill out. I have it off the rest of the day and when I get home, I get a fire going in the fireplace. I like that.

Between 32 an 34 in this part my country (Finland). It's not bad but this time of the year days are becoming shorter. Less sunlight means it's once again a bit harder to keep up the good spirit...

hey Iconic...i am very fimiluar with that. You have to admit though that your summers are awesome. I spent the whole month of July in Helsinki. I loved the fact that at 1 am it is still somewhat daylight out. Only thing was...it made it tough for me to get to sleep. You have a beautiful country there

We just turned the heat on for the first time yesterday. The outside temperature was 42 degrees so it was time. I love all Seasons becuase it means I'm still alive and kicking. I do hate paying those inflated propane bills though..........

Despite several complaints from my wife, no heat here in Georgia...yet. It's supposed to get down to the lower 40's this weekend, so we'll have to see. I usually wait until my family threatens to go to the in-law's until I break down and turn on the heat. My motto...you can always put on more clothes!
