Speaking of
England ... did anyone catch the rugby at the weekend? *special wink towards Argyle and MBabe*
I'll assume our American friends didn't catch the result:
Ireland 43 - 13 Bunch of Panzies

There were a few SBG's in action btw:

Rugby is a great sport, but much like the orignal
football since it did not start here it doesn't get much coverage.

I have been so busy lately have not had the chance to watch even the popular sports here

Sounds like it was pretty much a blow out.

Yeah, go Erin. Munster fan here. Sounds like a great match. Live broadcasts here only at 1=3 a.m. and if you have satellite. Otherwise have to go to Chicago to catch matches on tape. Congrats.

It was one of the best matches I have seen in a long time ... except England never really got into second gear which was a pity in a way. Still, a great win on a very historic day (first time England played in Croke Park (HQ of the Gaelic Athletic Association)).
You can see some highlights on the
BBC website.

Fair play to Ireland though. You sooo totally deserved to win.
Our performance was abysmal

We looked like we were asleep half the time.
I do think that Tom Chesters had an awesome debut for England though, quite a nippy little sod, and I always like Harry Ellis, he's a cutie

Jonno was way off form and the rest of them may as well not have been there, in my opinion.
The crowd were awesome.

Still, there's always next time....

played rugby in college....great game. It's a shame it hasn't taken hold here in the US.

Yeah, it is a great game, although I still prefer (REAL FOOTBALL) soccer.

But it's super special when it's your country playing.
Rugby is definitely a MAN'S game

none of that silly padding or girly crash helmets

Ditto on that Schro, Americans don't know what they are missing.

Although I prefer the NFL, I'll catch a rugby match on TV when I find it. Played wing and flanker in college. Although I miss the post game drinking rituals and scoring the occassional try, I don't miss being so f**kin sore on Sunday mornings I couldn't get out of bed. I guess that's a bonus for the NFL having their games on Sundays.

I can empathize on the soreness Schro. After riding two or three bulls in one weekend, work really sucked come Monday. I played rugby a couple times when I was a kid, just some impromptu games, but we had a blast.

I wondered how long it would take our Irish friend to mention this one

England are a mess at the moment as far as rugby and football are concerned. I cant understand why we struggle to sort it out now that Rugby is professional. I managed to watch until about fifteen miniutes into the second half and then had to give up. Croke Park though......wow what a stadium and atmosphere.
At the moment i am focusing on football, my team, Plymouth are in the QF of the FA Cup, way better that you would expect and with a winnable game against Watford, I cant wait!!

you must be a west ham fan then MB, i think Argyle may be the peoples favourite now they are the underdogs, about the only thing to get excited about if you are a plymouth fan.
