So today I went out to eat with some friends at a restaurant I have never visited before, and out of my peripheral vision I see a waitress coming to me addressing me by the wrong name. I turn around and she noticed I wasn't who she thought I was. A couple other waitresses wandered near and they all remarked on how I looked just like this other guy; a guy who used to work for their restaurant. I asked if I could have the employee discount and they laughed because that was the same kind of thing he used to joke about.
Then it got weird. I was curious if the guy just happened to drive the same kind of vehicle and they said he drove a truck. I drive a truck, but then I learned they meant a delivery truck. Apparently he used to work for this local tomato company delivering their tomatoes.
Cue the wooosh sound from Lost...
I immediately remembered an incident a couple months ago when I was in a nearby Quiznos and the guy asked me if I was the guy who used to deliver their tomatoes. I said "no" and he said "You look just like that guy".
It was really freaking strange and funny how I had completely forgotten about that Quiznos conversation until this happened.
When I transferred into my current department at work, I was sitting at my cubicle one day when I suddenly felt a hand on top of my dome. I turned around and saw a woman I'd never seen before, who suddenly turned beet red because she'd thought I was the one other sly guy who worked on the floor at that time.
Mmmm...
Quizno's...
(Glad I moved to an area where they are still open...I'm make sure to ask about the tomato guy...)
That's pretty coincidental!

These stories emphasize how much others notice and remember guys who are sly. You may not remember them but do you.
