Oily scalp
« on: May 17, 2010, 05:56:37 PM »
Every year my head starts getting oily around spring time/summer. I shampoo and condition but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

If you are completely shaved just use a wash cloth during the day. Shampoo in the morning what else can you do. You can carry some moist towelets also.

My head gets really oily when the weather starts getting warmer. When it does, every morning I wash my head with Bald Guyz Wash and Shampoo first thing O0. Works great. But it still gets oily during the day and I use a wash cloth.

To answer your question of what to do....live with it, it's not going to change.

That is what I figured, but thought I would ask first. Thanks for the suggestions.

I find a little witch hazel, while not solving the problem, improves things a little. I do a cold water rinse followed by the witch hazel. I know some guys refrigerate it, but I don't.

I suggest keeping some Bald Guyz head wipes available during the day. They're very refreshing when you find your noggin' is hot and sweaty/oily. HB makes a wipe you can try as well.

Baldguyz Wipes are great to have at your desk at work.  I also find it's nice after lunch in the professional grade heat and humidity of New Orleans to hit the dome w/ a damp paper towel rinsed in cold water after coming back from lunch.  Feels great, and is something only Sly Guys can do--watch your hirsute brothers at the office drool sweat on their foreheads, while you cool off and clean up--Priceless.

Tea tree oil works fantastic for oily skin and it's what I use, I'm absolutely sold on the body shop's tea tree exfoliating wash.
