Just came home from a family Christmas gathering. My cousin and her husband from Charleston SC were there. They are both attorneys. The husband was wearing a wool beanie and a new three week old beard. When he pulled off his hat he showed me his three week old FUE! He had 3,200 grafts as $4 each! Of course they clipper shaved his head to do the procedure. But although it has been three weeks and his hair has grown out to a #3 or better, I could see the donor sites all around the back of his head. His scalp is really red and angry and the new front hairline is a "V" that comes to a point in the middle of his forehead. It just does not look natural to me.
Man, I didn't have the heart to tell him that it just doesn't look good. And now he says he finds having the buzzcut "liberating"!
If any of you guys are thinking of doing this - DON"T!
Even though the poor guy now has the "joy" of a lifetime of daily finasteride and minoxidil to look forward to before discovering that all that pain and expense may have provided only a temporary reprieve from the inevitable, I am going to hope he is happy for now.
Frankly, I can think of many other more worthwhile things on which I would spend that money.
Thankfully I am way too cheap to have ever considered doing this!
I find it ironic that "fue" means went in Spanish...as in my hair went away...el pelo se fue....
I would never do it, either for cost or vanity
Good grief, it's amazing what people will do themselves in the name of insecurity.
I'm hoping this is an image of a botched procedure, but I fear it's not.
In my fortune teller voice "It's coming to me now, I see buyer's remorse into your future!" All joking aside, I'm glad I hadn't eaten dinner yet before looking at that image, Slybear!
