Hi, I have been a Headblader for some time now, using the S4 and Sport models. As happy as I'm with the shave and handling of the razor itself I can't really get to like the lotions and creams they offer, specially the Headslick.
I'm probably the only guy in this forum who won't talk wonders about this product, I realize it's popularity among the head shaving community, but for myself...I just don't get the hype and buzz around it.
It's not that I dislike it but in my opinion it isn't any better than other shave creams and gels out there, in fact I prefer a Nivea or Gillette shave gel
Or am I missing something about Headslick? I have tried to apply it in different ways and quantities, opinion would not change at all
Thought I would let you know to see if I'm the only one and to get some suggestions
Cheers
I like the feel, but what is most appealing is how you can "move it around" in the shower without it coming off easily like other brands. You know, after you missed a spot you thought you got, you don't have to add any HeadSlick...just "move it around" as it will continue to lather and stick around as long as you need it.
Do you use a shave brush??
I was just talking with a buddy about a shave brush. I used one when I was in college and was required to shave my beard. Maybe I should get one again. Does that work well with Head Slick?
I do have some Head Slick in preparation for Jan 21. (shave day). I've been 'playing' with it where I trim my beard, and like the feel.
Using a brush MAY change your mind about HeadSlick. It distributes it more evenly, allows you to just wet the brush a little bit to reactivate any drying product, and the brush will hold the product so that when you make your second pass without dumping out more product.
I do as many guys on the forum do...lather up the brush and then add some HeadSlick or in my case, Bald Guyz Gel. Brush it on o'top of Shave Secret and it smooth shavin'.

Good point my friend
I don't use a brush but I always like the second pass better, wether I use Headslick or any other shave gel, the lathering is much better the second time
Hi highly recommend using a shaving brush when applying shaving lather. It works out much better and like mikekoz says you can reapply it for a second pass. I always wet my brush first with hot water and let the excess water drip off before applying it. It also makes the headslick more moist ans makes for a better shave.
