Waxing vs Tweezing...which is more painful ?
« on: May 27, 2009, 06:22:38 PM »
OK guys...in my quest to even out my baldness on top instead of lasering I have decided to try waxing or tweezing...unsure which one to do but I am definitely going to try one. I have about 4 days growth(hate it !!) and I would like to get rid of the very thin patchy hair I have on top.
I looked into laser but it seems like that cannot be done in one session and that does get expensive. I have seen the videos of guys getting waxed but they have full heads of hair...I am only looking to clean up the top so I dont have a hair island look... thoughts ?

I'd probably go with waxing because it's faster.  If you tweeze, you have to do it strand by strand.  It shouldn't be too painful if the hair is sparse.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Ouch!! Is alll I can say!!  I personally would not really consider it. Not even laser. Too much pain for too little results. And I must say that I have never heard of someone trying either method.

Sorry, I know that's not what you were looking for but let's see what others have to say.

NEWS FLASH!  If you can prove you can still grow hair the gov't is giving those who can $5,000.00 bonus.  I will stick with the HeadbladeSP.

Nah you guys are thinking tweezing is one by one...not at all. You can use an epilady like this...
http://www.target.com/Epilady-Legend-Full-Size-Rechargeable-Epilator/dp/B000IO24J8

to do this... (go to how to tweeze section...top left link)
http://www.scalptweezing.com/

I am going to go with the tweezing route...if a bunch of girls can handle it I know I can.  If you guys look at that website it doesnt look too bad at all...maybe the first time will be painful, But no shadow at all would be totally worth it to me...I know I will NEVER go back to having hair on top of my head.

As a matter of fact i spent the entire weekend, bit by bit tweezing the island on the front of my head.  I had a test strip done with a laser and that worked so I decided to see what the final product would look like. I did mine the old fashion way with a good old set of tweezers. It worked great.  This is before:

BTW You can see I haven't shaved yet today. Notice the stubble on the sides compared to the tweezed section on front.
