I shave everyday and exfoliate Monday Wednesday and Friday. Those are the days I get my best shave.

I use the headshed every other day, along with headwash when in the shower. It's a nice preshave combo. I tend to shave the dome every other day or so, but sometimes I switch it up, a go every day. Have you tried the headblade sport yet?

Headwash cleans all the dirt and oil build up, aside form that, not sure if there is a major difference. As far as I know the headshed is just an exfoliate to soften the hairs, and scalp. Iuse em both when in the shower. You might want to give the sport a 2nd shot. The trick is to keep the pressure in the back, When you are shaving, it should be your ring finger that holds the pressure down.

I gotta be honest, I don't see what any specialty product can do that a good soap and scrubber (like a shower sponge) won't take care of.
Maybe I'm missing out on something....I just don't get it.

Me neither. I use a loofa sponge and that thing feels like sandpaper, I've tried things like St. Ives I don't find it nearly as effective at removing oil and dead cells.
