Certainly one of the powerhouses of headshaving and the top competitor to Headblade Headslick. Will this shave gel live up to it's expectations?
Ease of lathering: Gels are not really suppose to lather. You cannot whip up a lather of this gel in a shave mug very well. However, you can lather up a nice thin layer of lather directly on your head. This works quite well and allows you to wet your shave brush periodically to build your lather.
Life span of lather: This gel does crave water and certainly dries fairly quick. The positive part is that a little gel goes a long way. Sometimes I didn't even have to add gel during each pass; just a little water to my shave brush.
Moisturizing: I'd say slightly above average.
Lubrication: This is where the gel really shines. You are guaranteed a frictionless shave and your razor will glide over your dome with ease. I'd say this is a plus for the Headbladers out there.
How protective?: Here is the only downfall of this gel. If your are not careful you can get cut pretty easily. While a shave gel's properties lean towards a closer shave, it also opens up the risk for nicks and cuts.
Scent: Can't beat it. Citrusy and refreshing, but also pleasantly subtle. There is no way it can be offensive to anyone's smell preference.
Price: $6 is a fair price for the quality of this product. I'm also considering the discount us SLB get, which will certainly bump my rating up.
Would you buy again?: I most certainly will. I think Bald Guyz have spent a lot of time on this product and it shows. I don't think you'll find a better headshaving gel out there. I also keep a bottle stocked in my medicine cabinet to show my sly pride!
