I was just wondering if anything like this has been posted in here before. What I was thinking of is, could or would you all be interested in posting up a picture of something unique about your town or city? If it is possible, maybe post a picture of you standing next to or near the choosen object or place? This could be one of your towns "hidden treasures". I think it would be fun to get to know a little more about where you all live. Along with the picture, you could add a caption or two with the picture telling us all about your subject and the history of it.
So are you all game??

I would be game for this, but I am from Oshawa ON, Canada. And unless you want me to post a picture of a crack deal on a side street, there is not much unique about Oshawa lol. At least in the south end where I am from. Thats why people call it "The Dirty Shwaaa!" In Oshawa We call Coffee Time "Crack Time!" LOL Jokes!

We have one stoplight in our town. It's on a pole in the middle of the road. You can see a pic here:
http://www.smackoverar.com/index.htmlBe careful when pulling a trailer and making a turn around it. It's been hit many times.
When making a left turn, there's always the question of whether to cut in front of it or go around. Going around is proper if you ask me. I don't like the people who cut in front of it.

the first picture is me and some friends under a road in Richmond. The James River runs through Richmond, and runs under sections of the city. There is a "River Walk" that goes a part of the length through downtown. That section we took pictures at used to be an entrance to sewer lines during the 20's-30's.
The second picture (i took it, does that count?) is a friend of mine jumping into the James River from a footbridge that connects the mainland to an island in the river called Belle Isle. The bridge is suspended below a highway that crosses the James. Its about 300 feet above the river.
Belle Isle has been a Powhatan fishing village, a colonial-era race horse track, slave quarters, a Civil War prisoner camp, and the location of a Hydroelectric dam/plant that used to power the trolley trains (since abandoned. makes for really good photos).
