As far as electronic stuff, ive just recently got my feet wet. Ive started to get into Royksopp and Daft Punk and ive heard Ladytron before. Any others you recommend Ricktus?

Oh yeah, right now I really love Crystal Castles, and you should definitely check out the album 'Homogenic' by Bjork. Its 12 or 13 years old and still sounds totally futuristic and mindblowing. Also have you heard of Alec Empire? His album 'Intelligence and Sacrifice' is one of my favs, its electro music but it's also got a really aggressive metal feel to it, which you might like.

Hey Peter, those bands are awesome! I was listening to Immortals 'At The Heart Of Winter' this morning while I made breakfast btw. That whole 90's period was a great time for BM, so many amazing albums came out. Emperor, Immortal, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Satyricon...

I listen to a LOT of Folk and Traditional music. Mainly European especially Irish, Scottish and English. But that almost starts to feel like homework after a while (because my band plays that stuff).

For my free time listening I dig just about anything that is good for what it is. I'm not much of a fan of modern country or "gangsta" rap. But I always like to hear new stuff, or stuff that's just new to me.

Some of my all time favorites include: Tom Waits, Led Zeppelin,  Mastodon, Hank Williams Sr., 16 Horsepower, Wovenhand, Moxy Fruvous, Iron and Wine, Rammstein, The Chieftains, Dervish... wow this list is going to get too long too fast.

Anyway, I try to listen to a bit of everything and find the performers I like best.

Ricktus, you have an awesome taste in black metal, I like it! Mayhem, Bjork, Darkthrone and Satyricon are all great bands. Dark Funeral is good too, and who can forget about Burzum. Windir is another black/viking metal band you would probably enjoy. And you're definitely right, the 90's were a great black metal decade, my collection is still nowhere near complete though. Every day I search for new bands and I tend to find one's that I really enjoy.

A lot of people on here seem to be big rockers. I am a big Hip Hop guy, tho I do like some rock, such as AC/DC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, Linkin Park, Theory Of A Deadman, Poison, KISS!!!!!!!, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, (Altho Ozzy did better when sepperating from Sabath, and Sabbath got better with Dio) Basically a lot of old stuff, only a bit of newer stuff. I can't stand screamo rock music, even tho I have a cousin who has a screamo band, I like some emo rock such as Billy Talent, My Chemical Romance. I like some Punk Rock such as Dropkick Murpheys, Rancid, The Ramones. I Like some Alternative such as Limp Bizkit. That's about it. If I were to write all the Hip Hop people I listen to it would take a few pages lol. Altho someone mentioned Marilyn Manson, he has a select few songs I like, never herd the one he did with Eminem. Has anyone herd the Manson Remix of You Spin Me Right Round Ft. Billy Idol?? Frikkin Hillarious!

"You Spin Me Right Round By Billy Idol"

Is this like getting "Rick Rolled" on You tube?

I didn't know Billy Idol sang this song (I remember the video had some weird looking long haired dude with a patch), so I google it and I get a million videos of "You Spin me Right Round By Billy Idol!"  I play one and it has pics of Billy Idol but the song is clearly sang by long haired patch dude.

R-MC, I haven't heard the Manson remix, but I like the Tainted Love cover they do.

Billy Idol sang it after The Wedding Singer came out i've heard. Dead Or Alive sang the version in the movie however. Billy Idol was not the origional, you are right on that. Marilyn Manson did a remix of it, altho he did a second version singing with Billy Idol. There is no video of the one he did with Billy Idol tho, but u can download it off of music downloading programs. One of my friends let me listen to the Marilyn Manson/Billy Idol version and I laughed my ass off! I dont kno if it was Billy Idol singing with him, but there is no video for me to verify. When you download it, it just says Marilyn Manson Ft. Billy Idol- You Spin Me Right Round.mp3. The Tainted Love one they did was awsome too. The video was on the Not Another Teen Movie DVD.

The other main kind of music I love is Black Metal, anything from the early innovators like Mercyful fate and Bathory.

Ricktus, how could you leave out two of the originals: Venom and Celtic Frost!

I don't like black metal, but these names of some of the bands are hillarious! Is it just me, or does it sound like some of the bands are ripping off Marvel?? Venom?? LOL

I wasn't into Venom too much but I had Morbid Tales and Into the Pandemonium on cassette.  Celtic Frost was cool (especially the songs with the orchestra in the background).

Apparently, yes.  RMC said that Billy Idol did it after The Wedding Singer.

Ok, people are getting confused at what I said. When I first made that comment with the Billy Idol, I wrote "Has anyone herd the Manson Remix of You Spin Me Right Round By Billy Idol?" I Ment Ft. Billy Idol. But I also wrote that I dont kno if it is really him in the song or not, there is no video with Manson or Idol for me to verify. There was a version he did after the wedding singer I have herd. I have no clue which album it is on, i downloaded the song, and it came up as Billy Idol. And I wrote down there that Dead Or Alive was the origional. They sang the version on the Wedding Singer Soundtrack, plus Adam Sandler sang it on the movie and on one of his albums, you can download the Sandler version online. Billy Idol did it afterward I guess. I have not yet seen a video for it. I know a few people did that song. Jessica Simpson, Marilyn Manson, Flo Rida, and Eifel 65 have also done there own versions and re-mixes. These are ones I found on a limewire list. A friend of mine told me Billy Idol sang it which is how I first found out. He sent me the song online, but on limewire there is actually a mix of Marilyn Manson and Billy Idol Singing it. Dont kno if it is real or someone edited it. Lots of people are doing that now adays mixing songs. And especially if people have limewire, which is a shareware program, and someone mixes a song on there computer, and has limewire, you can copy it to your computer thru limewire. By the way anyone kno a program to mix and DJ your own songs that is free??
