Outlaw or alternative country, southern rock, blues, just about anything really. There is some rap and metal I just can't stand, but I'm pretty open to most anything

haha thats what EVERYONE says! lol. i was in the library at my college one time and this guy came up to me and randomly started talking to me about this heavy metal concert he was going to. and i was like.....o i dont know anything about that sorry. and hes like "o my bad dude you look like your a slayer type of guy" lol.
im faaaaaar from heavy metal. im a HUGE rap guru. i know it like i know the back of my hand lol. i was/is in a rap group with 2 buddies. i just dont do the whole gangsta look and sh*t. i did that when i was in HS and grew out of it because i realized how stupid i looked lol. i just like to dress more conservative. thats why people figure im into the heavy metal scene.
i dont hate heavy metal really. it just gives me a headache so i dont listen to it lol. i do like a song by cradle of filth though. i forget what its called. it has a chik in the chorus. so theres a few songs here and there that catch my attention.
btw im kinda surprised as well. from your avatar you had up before with the camo shirt on i figured you were into rap. you looked G'ed up from the feet up haha.
Yea dude I knew I couldn't have been the only one who thought you looked more on the metal side! But yea, metal isn't everyone's thing, people also assume I'm into rap when I wear camo stuff. It's just that some of the bands I listen to wear that exact same shirt so I figure hey, they're metal, I'm metal, I'll wear it because it's pretty bad ass looking. Typically when it comes to metal also it's usually either bald, or really long straight hair. I get mixed reactions from people also but it's cool, as I'm far from a fan of rap lol.

Sounds good. Damn I have a long list of bands, but some include Origin, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour of Penance, Hate Eternal, In Flames, At the Gates, Skinless...And much, much more.
Dang, I was into death metal and stuff when I was in high school and I don't know ONE band you mentioned Peter. You guys like Obituary? I saw them several times when I lived in South Florida and they frikken rocked.
Yea man Obituary is another great band, one of the classics of death metal. A couple of those bands I had listed were formed in either 2000 or later, the rest in the early 90's. If you happen to still enjoy brutal, technical death metal, Origin and Fleshgod Apocalypse are probably the best I've ever heard. You can never go wrong with In Flames, they make truly great, melodic music. Well, their old stuff at least.
Origin sounds cool (googled it and listened on youtube). Yeah Obituary was one of my favorites but I also liked Carcass, Death, Malevolent, Morbid Angel, Dark Angel (I liked thrash too), Deicide, Pestilence, Bolt Thrower and that's all I remember right now.
I like between the buried and me, they're fairly new (don't know if that qualifies as death metal or not) and As I lay dying is cool too (probably more metalcore). I think they all sound cool especially when there singing one minute and screaming the next! YEAH!

so you dont listen to any rap? theres some rappers out there nowadays that are collaborating with rockers.
lil wyte has 2 songs with the guy from saliva, nas made a song with korn, techn9ne makes some rock/rap songs, and HeD PE does some collabos with rappers same with nine inch nails i believe. i dunno how hardcore HED PE is though in your book lol.

Hard to believe right? Zero rap. I used to be a big fan of 2Pac. DMX, Immortal Technique and other pretty popular rappers, but over the years my taste in music took a complete 180. I have metal head carved into my forehead pretty much. But hey, it's not for everyone, and that's fine with me. I had no idea Nas made a song with Korn, that's interesting. As for HED PE, I dunno man, a lot of the stuff I listen to is capable of shattering ear drums lol.

Well for me I'm prepared to love any kind of music if it has something in it that appeals, irrespective of genre. However there are two main kinds of music that I would say are my favourites, the ones I always turn to.
Electronic music firstly is a big thing for me, stuff like Ladytron, Goldfrapp, anything where synths feature heavily alongside catchy songs. I guess it might be 'cause I grew up in the 80's and some of the first music I got into was Gary Numan and The Human League.
The other main kind of music I love is Black Metal, anything from the early innovators like Mercyful fate and Bathory, through to the modern Norwegian sound. I was a serious metalhead from the age of about 12, but BM is pretty much the only metal I can listen to now. I'm a sucker for fast drums and rough production values lol
