So I hear that 40 is the new 30 and so on...I think your never too old to make yourself happy. You should try new things. Theres more to life than your normal daily grind. Word of advice....Tattoos are addictive!

Keep in mind...after you get your first tat and/or piercing...you'll probably want more! They can be quite addicting...

I have one tat on my right arm just below teh shoulder. It is a coiled cobra and says SVT undernieth it with flames coming off the lettering. It was my dream car and I have it and it's paid for. I won't ever sell it. thats why I got the tat also a good friend drew it up for me made to order so to speak LOL so that adds to it. I will probably get another tat when I leave the navy and yes it will be a Navy tat of some variaty and yess it will be another custom job. The Navy has been a big part of my life for the last eight years so I will imortalize that time with more ink.
All that being said as long as you are doing it for you and no one else go for it. Don't do it if you just want to fit in with another crowd or any crap like that.
G/L with your decision and if you get some ink done post a pic for us.

Well, I guess It partly depends on your career, If you make good $$$ and don't wanna F it up. get something that is easily concealed(chest or back tat, nipple ring/s) I've had my main 2 piercing long enough that I can remove them for weeks at a time for work and they don't close. I won't take a job that has a problem with ink.....As far as the nervousness, Start with a piercing. You can at least take it out if you don't like. Me, I'm gonna be the freakiest bastard in the nursing home. Age shouldn't be a factor!!!

I guess I am still old school. I got my first piercing and only piercing in my left ear when i was 17..that was 20 years ago. I still everyonce ina while wear one but not too often. Alot of people dont even realize I even have it peirced. Everyone says its the cool thing to get both done..but why do the right ear when i rarely wear the left one....so I guess I will keep it the same.

I got my first piercing, my ear, when I was about 25. When I was about 35, I got my tongue pierced. I was 47 when I got my first tat, and I'm planning more.
I don't think it's ever too late to do what you really want. But IMHO, there's plenty of time to regret not doing what you always wanted to do.
Go for it.

So true, jcroce, so true!

I think quite a few of the other slyguy's would agree, too.

Well I am 31 and I am going down to book in for my first TAT next weekend. Gonna get a Redback (blackwidow) Spider on my forearm.
I am getting it there because I don't see the point on getting it where i cannot see it.
I wan't it to have 3d shading so it looks kinda real. I am a fan of realistic animal tats.
Being on my forearm means I can see it when I wear tee shirts, but can still cover it if I needed to go to an interview or something.
So no I don't think your ever to old to do things like that. Whatever makes you feel good.

Glen , disreagard other post, (tattooing the head) and good luck with the tat! Sounds cool, and a good spot to get it. As you said, you can cover it up if need be.
I also think you'll be back for more, lol.

Getting it on the 22nd of October. The place I am going is always booked out for months in advance. Apparently I am getting a guest Tattooist from Japan which is cool. I am really excited about it

Hell yeah man, go for it! I always think it's cool as hell when middle aged people are into tats and peircings. Just shows that your only as old as you feel! If you do get your ear done, I'd say go for both of them. Only one ear is old school. I have both of mine done and stretched to a 00... and I have 7 tats. Even when I'm 60 I'm pretty sure that I'll still be getting inked!
How The Heck To You Strech Your Ears Like That 4 Spacers Anyhow?
