Considering shaving head, but...

Hi folks,
I chanced across this forum by accident, but am glad that I did. It's already been a great help, from the threads I've read.
I'm a 37 year old male, and am experiencing male pattern baldness. I'm really starting to thin on top, developing the old 'egg in the nest'! I'm considering taking it down to a number 2, but am worried about if it will suit me. Another big factor is that I'm pretty slim, and am not sure if being skinny and having a shaved head looks good! My ex gf certainly didn't think so!
What do people think? I can always post a pic if that helps.
Cheers.

Welcome! Post up a pic and we'll let you know what we think.
My advice would be to start thinking about shaving it all the way. Who cares what your ex thinks! It's time to stop looking back and start looking to the rest of your life. What's the worst that can happen?

Post a pic please. I agree with Tyler, forget what the ex thought (she's an ex anyway right?)

Yep, post up a picture of yourself. IMHO everyone has a head. Fat ones, skinny one, round ones, square ones, smooth ones etc. For whatever reason we've elevated baldness to some exulted level! It's just hair and it will grow back if you so choose.
Your Mission, should you choose to accept it......is......decide if you want to live the rest of your life for your mom, coworkers, your friends or do you want to live it for you.
It's a bold move and that is what's so great about it. You go from shy to powerful!! I'm a man and I have made this choice for me!! That starts to put YOU in charge of your life.

Do you want to direct your life based upon what everyone else thinks or what you think?
Go ahead and shave it (or take it down to 2 if that's too big a step) and see what you think. In the unlikely event that you are not pleased, it'll grow back faster than you think it could.

I am 38, with a 30" waist which I think is slim. Judge if you think I look ok!

Welcome to SBG,
Like the guys have said, do for yourself what you want, not what will make others content. You are 37 after all.
Posting a pic, of course would help us give you more specific feedback.
Short buzzes and ultimately the bald dome is infinitely better looking than any combover your might fashion.

Welcome Summerisle. As you check out the pics of all the sly members here, you will see that sly goes with any weight, height and age. Go for it. It's what you think that matters, not some one else.

Hey Lord Summerisle (cool name btw

)
I am in my mid thirties and am also very slim. My girlfriend likes me the best with a completely shaved head (but she hated it when I first did it!) My advice is to do what you feel is right, and let everyone else around you catch up!
Some girls love shaved heads, some girls hate them, you cant please everyone, so don't worry about it! You should do whatever is best for you. If your hairloss is knocking your confidence down, shaving your head is definitely the way to go.
Cheers
Rick

Yep, post us a pic.
Remember, it's hair. It'll grow back, at least where it's currently growing. Try taking it off and SEE what you think. If YOU don't like it, then hey, you tried something new and it wasn't for you. But at least you tried it. it's kind of a no lose situation.
Best of luck.

Summer, welcome to the forum. So glad you found us. Ditto on what the other guys have said. I've gone Sly and have grown it back. Going Sly again very soon as I have found out why I hated my hair in the first place.
