I saw on NBC over a year ago, stem cells that grow new hair follicles. They said it was 3 or 4 years away from being reality.  How it works is the scrape your skin and smear on some sort of cream and genetic material and new follicles grow. strange stuff coming in the near future. not interested myself.

The only reason that I can see for people putting so much effort to find a "cure" for something that isn't a disease is that it has the potential for generating huge profits for people who prey on the insecurity of others.

I am sure that it will be advertised using the same negativity that Hair Club uses now.  "you need this to be confident and attract women".

The only thing I'd listen to in this video is that they FINALLY talk about the truth when it comes to Propecia and that it doesn't help you grow hair if you've already lost the follicle.

As for being able to generate hair, they didn't mention any side effects, and I'm sure there are plenty.  Plus, I don't need a "cure" as I don't have a disease.

Have you guys ever heard of Urine therapy? Yes you've read correctly. Before i decided to go sly i did alot of research on regrowing hair. On youtube.com i discovered a process called Urine therapy. There was a young man who was well presentable and was talking about natural ways to grow your hair, and several men say it works. In the video the man says to take your first morning urine and actually soak your scalp with your urine... I guess it really works, Some people drink it as well, theres no harm in drinking it because its sterile... but i dunno about drinking my own waste! LOL Has anyone else heard or tried or just think i'm plain NUTS!

hahaha I am sure the guy who came up with it is having a big laugh.

While I do not think hairloss is a disease, I think it would be nice if there is something that can hide any bald spots so that you don't have any.  I don't have any bald spots yet but I think it would be nice if I do get a solution when it arrives just until I become old enough that it doesn't matter anymore.

In any case, all thanks be to God for providing us with shaving the head as an option to dealing with MPB.

Hair restoration is a billion dollar industry--this will just move some dollars around and take more money from guys fighting the inevitable.  Listen to the subtext, there are going to be side effects if it ever gets on the market at whatever price.  Interesting to me how it gets people going though--Sly is really the only answer, get used to it.

Ghost,
To answer your question- I would be very sceptical.  I have been following hair loss news for over a decade now.  In my years it seems that  the "cure" has always been "about 5 years away."  Example- about 7-10 years ago hair multiplication was the hot topic when it came to hair loss cures.  It was predicted that hair multiplication could be the hair loss cure in about....5 years.  That was seven years ago.  Do a quick google of hair multiplication and even today the experts are saying the technology is about 5 years away.  My intention is not to be negative.  I hope this new technology works out for the men who desire it.  However, I wouldn't get too excited too soon.  Interesting story.  Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like nothing to get hyped about Ghost.  It's something that might lead to something, and when you're doing anything with medical compounds that haven't been tested yet, who knows what the side effects and cost could be.
Did Matt Lauer seem a little overly interested in that or was it just me?

DING!DING!DING! Sean gets it right!

I'd rather they be spending the time and money to cure real diseases like childhood diabetes etc.

Matt Lauer could hardly contain his excitement............ what an insecure twit...........

We already know the "cure"........... a nice razor and some good shave cream!

What all the guys have said.

Cure?? We dont need a bloody cure. We are not pariah's and I resent the implication that I have something that needs fixed. WHEN WILL THEY REALISE THAT WE ARE HAPPY THEY WAY WE ARE. I am so damn pissed off with this. I went to my local library last night and was browsing the health book shelves, and there it was "The cure for baldness". :Xo! :Xo! :Xo!

I think Matt needs to take the blade on his scalp.

Imagine what could be done with the wasted money spent on hairloss research.  Get with the program people...its just hair.
