Those 'other' bald forums
« on: April 14, 2009, 08:35:19 AM »
It's rather sad because often people join up in a poor psychological state, some even contemplating suicide. These people clearly aren't reading the posts on sites such as this one, therefore aren't getting any balance. They're just having their fears reinforced by a bunch of extremely negative and neurotic people.

What are your opinions on sites like these? Do you feel compelled to join up and tell the posters that there is another way? The people there are extremely set in their ways, convinced baldness is some kind of hideous disease. It's the newbies that I worry for most, who might make some bad decisions as a result of poor, one sided advise. .

This kind of highlights the typical mentality you find there:

Quote
"So how would balding alter ones facial symmetry, it seems to spread fairly evenly."

It may or may not change symmetry, but one thing it does change is the distance from your hairline to your pupil. That greatly affects attractiveness. From a purely scientific and mathematical point of view, you have become less "beautiful" as your hairline decreases. As that distance increases you get further away from the golden ratio which defines attractiveness.

hey imb:  i kinda feel sorry 4 the members of those type of forums.   they R "hiding" from their baldness when they should embrace it.  2 answer your other question... "no".... i don't feel compelled 2 join their forum & tell them 2 "shave it" because its "their" community.  that would B like "them" joining up on the SBG forum & convincing us 2 wear a rug or sport the comb-over.

I just have to comment on the last part of this post..."Beautiful"  I am sorry, I do not consider myself "Beautiful" nor do I think many men consider theirselves beautiful. Therefore...they cant be talking about us!

We've had those type of guys come on here trying to ruin the Sly karma.

They have not been successful.  We are the bald.  Resistance is futile.

They will be assimillated.

I figure that those guys that are obsessing over their disappearing hair aren't getting laid. Trust me they ARE NOT...... women can sense that lack of confidence on a man.

Use your energy for something better you hairline obsessors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really did think that I would be less attractive when I started losing hair, now you would have a tough time convincing me that I'm not MORE attractive.
It's sad becuase the "other guys" have alot of money and marketing behind them. but we have the Truth... and we have TimmJ

If someone believes that his life is over the day he shaves his head, or he believes he will never get any women after he loses his hair then there is little we can do to help him.
Everyone goes through some type of problem.  The people who are happy are those who have looked at the positives, and the rest well they decided to cry over spilled milk.   No point really.  There is no point in thinking about what you don't have.
